The fact that you all went from September all they way up until almost December not having this topic discussed to me shows that PD Jason Kidd is doing his job well. WPGC was a topic of debate on this message board almost daily now its not that way. IMO their is no comparison between the Micheal Saunders WPGC and the Jason Kidd WPGC playlist or sound or air talent wise a year ago they were 14th (6plus ratings) now they are actually tied for 6th place. They are also usually number #2 in the 18-34 ratings most of the time. Some black people from the DMV not many are upset on twitter about how WPGC now sounds calling it white radio etc. so again he is doing his job. The ratings are up in all demos he is not perfect but IMO has turned into the PD that the station needed 3 years ago. Peter Parker could use a couple of more features and the mix could go longer from 8 pm to 9 pm but that is minor stuff. The station is being programming between 995 and WKYS his focus is not on just beating WKYS since WKYS does not get great ratings in any demo except 18-34 where as 995 get great ratings in all demos. Also WKYS has appeared to stop mixing at 9 pm during the week they still mix GO-GO from 9:30pm to 10pm however. So the ratings are a TON better in all demos playlist and mixshows are minor stuff compared to overall job performance look for him to stay in the WPGC PD chair for a while.

I was wondering what happened to the PGC Cheerleader. I am glad to see you are alive and well my friend. LOL! You have your opinion and I don't mean to belittle it at all. I don't have an opinion as they haven't gotten a quarter hour out of me in like forever. I did listen to the morning show a few times over the past few months to see if Free made it any better. IMO nope. Still burned toast in the morning. But then again, I am neither white nor below the age or 34 so I am out of the demo evidently. LMAO!

Glad to see that you are around as well you were MIA yourself. Really their has been nothing for me to say about this topic until i saw the other comments.

Honestly, I have never seen any problems with them playing crossover songs with urban hits because that is what drew me in during the Jay Steven-era of WPGC. However, I am within their demographic and puzzled by some of their song choices of recent and why they don't attempt to spins more songs by artists like Yelawolf, whom is more a rhythmic crossover than urban, in addition to their current crossover stuff. Also I applaud them on attempting to make the Cool Out a true slow jams show rather than the joke with mid-tempo songs it was nearly 2 years ago. At the end of the day, I just feel with their history and access to a large library of station-make cuts of hits from the 90s and early 00s and such they need to be more a stand out since since it is now stable situation.

I agree that Jason Kidd was the right choice. He is definitely is doing a good job despite what I want to hear. I love the strategy. I see some people who normally listen to Hot 99.5 are listening now to PGC so you know that is a good thing in the eyes of CBS brass. Popular music has changed and as a friend of mine who works at PGC says the "kids love this stuff." Nuff said. Listen to Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97 and then you realize what's up.

Hmmm...I have noticed WPGC is now trying to spin a Christmas song every 2 hours within their playlist. This is a first since the holiday of 2006 since they have attempted to do this, which also the last time the station was stable. They are sticking to more contemporary stuff this go around with a few exceptions, but still an interesting add to their playlist.

It also leaves the door open if they are going to go "All Christmas" on Christmas Eve into early Christmas Day like sister station V-103 has been doing for years.
