I think it will stay around because they do well in the desirable demographic. I am sorry but that really means something. The cost of Missinelli and Bruno really isn't that much in the scheme of things. From what I can piece together, they have the same basic overall rating as the previous format but that is completely irrelevant in this case. The jazz format skewed much older than their current audience.
WIP will win in overall ratings. They now own the programming for all 4 sports which comes at a high cost (especially for the Eagles and Phillies). PEN will be happy with them spending the $ and will be content to be in second with a much lower cost structure. As long as you bring in ad revenues that maintain a healthy profit margin, there is no reason for a format change unless it is part of a grander strategy between multiple stations. This city can easily support 2 sports talk stations especially when it is profitable.
I remember when IP stopped broadcasting the Eagles games for a while in the 90's. They maintained that the economics didn't make sense. I guess they do now.
