Former Sportscaster Warner Wolf Arrested

https://nypost.com/2019/03/12/legendary-sportscaster-warner-wolf-wins-legal-and-plantation-fight/

The longtime New York sports broadcaster had been arrested in Florida last month for removing the word “plantation” from the gated community where he resides.

The 81-year-old Wolf told WOR radio’s “Len Berman and Michael Riedel in the Morning” program that prosecutors “likely felt the intent was not criminal” and let him off because he had no prior record.

“The bottom line is I don’t live on a plantation,” Wolf said, adding that he believes the word is offensive. “I told the board for two years to get rid of that word. … We don’t live on a plantation.”

Here is another one.

Just be glad he wasn't offended by the word "dictation". No guy would be safe around him. And secretaries might have been in harms way also.

If you don't believe Warner Wolf is a legend, you don't know New York or broadcasting. Wolf changed the way TV newscasts did sports across the country.

Agreed, MASH. Legend is the word. So he had a bee in his headset when he chopped down the name of the development. Ennui happens to all of us over a certain age. Retirement can be a living hell at times.

The past few years we've noted that the fellow a few houses down, an older guy, plants a bunch of stuff in the spring. The garden is right up against the fence in a paved alley we use to walk to the stores; Rite-Aid, Subway, Exxon.
And each year, under the stealth of night, we've hung and nestled fully grown things in his Back Four. Things are not supposed to ripen in early April
A fully-ripened green pepper .... a head of lettuce in its celophane shrink-wrap (price tag and all) ..... a stray lemon (with the word Sunkist already stamped on it) : mischief like that. I don't think he knows who's doing this yet. This season we're gonna try for a sprig of bananas and maybe even a whole watermelon. I doubt this would be considered malicious mischief. After all, burglars take things. They don't leave things.

So Wolf got caught and scolded for doing a form of New York graffiti, in Florida. After retirement you gotta have *something* to do with your vast free time.
