Doesn't G4 target the perp crowd with those "COPS" reruns they show all the time? (Another example of a cable channel departing their original premise...)
G4, unlike the other channels that carry COPS, still has a hold of its roots. They still target the techie crowd (Mainly computer geek & gaming) however CBS could give them some competition here
IF they were to launch CNET TV as a diginet as has been talked about elsewhere on here. They also appeal to the adult entertainment crowd & the college crowd with the adult entertainment shows they do &
Campus PD, both of which you could say are (At least in some way) part of their core audience
Not only that, but remember - police cars have computers in them & cars in general are computerized nowadays
That's
NOT to say that G4 hasn't lost any of its core audience (I'm sure they've lost a few people, especially when it first merged with TechTV) but when all is said & done at the end of the day, it's still a pretty good niche channel (And NBC knows it which is why you see so much advertising from them on there)
That said though, CNBC could produce tech-oriented business briefs for broadcast on G4 just like they do with business briefs on MSNBC. MSNBC could also produce tech-oriented news briefs for broadcast on G4 as well (Both could even use the "News Feed" moniker for these)
JMO.....
Cheers & 73 ;D
