...there's no way in hell I'd accept a job with Nassau without a solid contract...
Your bud was right - three more just got the 'Happy Holidays now get the heel out' notice just yesterday in the Stroudsburg location - people who were there over
ten years no less! Here's how we're going to reward your dedication and loyalty - take a hike... Wonder when the broom is going to sweep through the Easton location? Hummm.. and who will it be? Start placing your bets now to save time - but hurry! Things could be happening at this very moment and that will void all wagers... :-\
As far as taking a job with Nassau - even
with a contract, how will you collect if they sell out or hide behind a backruptsy? And really, with all that's happening with them at the moment would you
really want a job with them? Face it, you'd get more mic time at the drive-thru.
Here's what I'm thinking - the investors are bearing down
hard wanting that year-end payment they were promised but all the cash was spent on needless upgrades and re-builds. Now the coffers are empty (insert cricket sfx here) and the top guys are scrambling to scrape some cash together to pay the investors back to quiet them down for awhile. But all this is going on while they are trying to figure out how they are going to keep the over-blown saleries they pulling down. Something has to give - and it isn't going to be them.
The up-side (if there is one) is the people being let go should be okay at least in the short term and now they have the last couple weeks of the year to spend at home with the family during the Holidays. And if you are one of those who were just let go - or will be let go in the next few days - take heart. Your
finally FREE. Unemployment isn't such a bad thing for awhile, enjoy it.
Everyone - have a Happy Holiday season no matter what happens.
(Just another point of view)
