Perhaps David can provide numbers.

Nevertheless, there is still a lot more potential revenue from brokered ethnic, and Entravision does do that with a couple of its stations.<P ID="signature">______________

Then Emmis is reporting it wrong to Miller Kaplan. And so is Liberman... funny, but Liberman has public debt, and has disclosed exactly what Que Buena bills... and Emmis has discussed it openly. Anyway, if you don't believe Miller Kaplan, there must not be a Santa Claus, either. And God didnn't make little green apples... etc., ad nauseum.

Indie has barely enough revenues to cover expenses.

Not correct. They may be telling you this, but there is no way a staiton with, lets say, something in the 0.6 to 0.8 ratings range (of which there are many in LA) to make money unless they are religious or ethnic.

Re: Freeform is alive on Jonesys Jukebox

How much would Indie need to bill to be considered profitable?

Do you think an ethnic station can bill over 5 mill on those signals?

Business 101.
Billing = gross revenues.
Profit = gross revenues less all expenses.

You can bill $300,000 a year on low expenses and make a profit. Half of all the stations in the USA bill less than $350,000 a year. Half the stations in the US do not bill enough tocover expenses, either.

You can spend $1 million a month and lose money, like KXOL did for 3 or 4 years till they changed format.

If it is Asian, yes. And they can do it very economically, as there are no $3,000,000 morning shows in Korean, yet. KRVN probably bills that much, as does KASN, and, maybe, KFOX. At $5 million billing, they should cash flow over $3 million.
