MusicGen Tutorial
Once MusicGen is installed, you're ready to start the program.
During the installation process, you will be given an option to use a sample database, to begin scheduling music logs immediately, or you can use an ASCII file from your current music scheduler.
If you do not choose to use the sample database, you will be prompted to create a new database. Start MusicGen and click yes to create a new database.
Login-Use "supervisor" and no password. Once logged in, go to "Config", click "Edit" and name your station.
If you desire your own personal login, create a user name and password, and set rights.
If you would like to load in songs from another source, create a file that contains all of the song data into a text file that is column delimited. Then, to import songs select "Import data", and in the import audio detail box, select the options you want.
You will then be able to set up categories, tempos,
dayparts, rules, clocks, rotations, and reports. For more specific information on how to create these, consult the online help file.
Go to "Logs" and begin scheduling.
