FREE MUSIC SCHEDULER MUSIC GEN LITE

It's funny that you posted that! I was going thru old emails and found the email to download it from Prophet and since I couldn't find my copy I decided to try the download link from their site. The old as dirt link actually worked! I was shocked!

Thanks for making it available for the masses

LOL, Bill.i got it off the Nexgen demo cd.Took that Nexgen for a ride and had to have it.Prophet is just the best in my book and their support is A PLUS. EZ to use.Enjoy

MusicGen was actually well on it's way to being THE best windows music scheduler out there. And, I always liked it's interface...it's like NexGen (go figure). Great product. Too bad it's been swept under the carpet. Kudos to the Cornhuskers in Ogalalla.

My recollection is that, although it was free, it required an unlock code to use which was supplied by Prophet when you downloaded it.

I've never used it but I know from the few other engineers I network with that Prophet is a real good system. It beats the pants off of BSI (which is pretty bad from what people who have used it tell me). I almost went with their lowend P101 (then Nexgen 101) system when I started my webstream but StationPlayist has a great "bang-for-your-buck" ratio for the small operator - for under $500 you can't beat it.

And easyfm is correct, there is an unlock code that needs to be entered. Now I need to go back through my archive emails to find the old email from them to get the code.

LOGIN Use "supervisor"(lower case) and no password.once logged in go to config, edit, and name your station.

If you desire your own personal login, create a user name and password then set rights.

MusicGen Tutorial
1 Once MusicGen is installed, you're ready to start the program.
2 During the installation process, you will be given an option to use a sample database, to begin scheduling music logs immediately, or you can use an ASCII file from your current music scheduler.
3 If you do not choose to use the sample database, you will be prompted to create a new database. Start MusicGen and click yes to create a new database.
4 Login-Use "supervisor" and no password. Once logged in, go to "Config", click "Edit" and name your station.
5 If you desire your own personal login, create a user name and password, and set rights.

6 If you would like to load in songs from another source, create a file that contains all of the song data into a text file that is column delimited. Then, to import songs select "Import data", and in the import audio detail box, select the options you want.
7 You will then be able to set up categories, tempos,
dayparts, rules, clocks, rotations, and reports. For more specific information on how to create these, consult the online help file.
8 Go to "Logs" and begin scheduling.

Hi menotti1,I'm sorry, I should of mention my OS on my first posting here, Ok I'm using old school Windows 98 first run edition.yes I checked the sample database.everything loaded up ok ,when the PSI flash screen comes on then the error "Can't Start Database" error message pops up ,when I click ok,the whole program aborts. I'm thinking this program may not run on win98.Thanks for the help an advance.

I run MusicGen Lite and have been known to, on occasion, get that same error. I've always, however, been able to shut the program down, restart it, and get it going the 2nd time...

The download link seems to have expired (probably since I'm only coming to this a month late ::)) -- is it possible to repost so I can download it? Thanks.

Thanks for the link! But what I get is a cab-file and it doesn't seem to open well.

I had a copy of this free music scheduler but the play function to audition music tracks within the program didn't work. (button was disabled) Does this feature work in your versions of the program?

What exactly was the latest release of this free scheduler? Hope to get it one day so I can further use this great piece of software.

Kind regards!
