Their transmitter site property has been sold to make room for commercial and residential construction . 40 million is what Cumulus got for the land. Far more money than either of the stations are worth.

Some of the 200,000 not covered by the translator are outside the metro survey area, so they don't matter.Maybe KDWN could come back on if they find another site, perhaps further out into the desert. For decades, CJMS 1280 was the dominant Francophone Top 40 station in Montreal. CKLM was a rather bad top of the dial station.How about CKLM, Laval, Quebec? They were a French language top 40 station in the 60s and 70s. I used to get it down here in Boston at night. They were the WABC of French Canada.
