I believe he died a few years ago.

He died in early June, 2007. Paul followed Jim Stagg as WCFL program director and some people who were there at the time said he did not handle his new power well.... alienating local record people, many of the station staff and eventually the management. He landed in Detroit radio after that and did well there.
Yes, it is still in the same location. I was in the area a few nights ago, and decided to take a detour and check outradioman148 said:Prais said:I'm pretty sure the whole array is new.
I thought so. It looked different when I last saw it. Is it in the exact same location?
I don't think Christy ever left Detroit.

Paul Christy came back to Chicago. He worked mornings, 6-9 AM at WTMX in the early 90's. He was replaced by Ron Britain.
DeltaDon said:You are correct sir! I have no memory of Christy being back in Chicago in the 90's but I found this in the Sun-Times archives:
Ron Britain, the Chicago radio icon who stunned colleagues last fall when he abruptly switched stations, is on the move again. This time, "King B" is moving from afternoons to mornings on WTMX-FM (101.9). Starting today, Britain replaces the ousted Paul Christy from 6 to 9 a.m. weekdays on "The Mix."

the site. The WCFL calls are still on the building. The towers are now guyed towers with the middle tower in the array being
taller than the the other two towers. They use two towers during the day, the middle tower and the tower to the east. At night
they use all 3 towers.

1. Barney Pip playing his trumpet along w/Boyce and Hart at the end of (You're still my favorite girlfirend) Alice Long.
2. DJ Buddy Carr - ( a big guy) whose jingle was to the tune of "Alice Long." Dick Williamson's (what ever happened to him?) jingle was to the tune of "The Horse." I remember pre-wcfl. when "Uncle Willi" worked at WIND. After 'cfl, he seemed to disappear. I can still sing Joel Sebastian's jingle - to the tune of Eleanor Rigby, and "Jimmy P. Stagg's jingle too, but can't place the song it's from.
Then there was the
WCFL Capsule Countdown - a short version of the Top 10!!!!

...their daughter, Jennifer Runyon, had a film and TV career in the '80s (she played Gwendolyn on "Charrles in Charge" and co-starred in Up The Creek); she's now the daughter-in-law of the legendary Hollywood producer/director Roger Corman...

Jennifer was in some other movies as well.... The In Crowd, 18 Again and she had a small role in Ghostbusters. But if she was born in 1960 like it says in IMDB and if Jim and Jane married in 1966-67, Jane is probably not Jennifer's biological mother. Or Jim and Jane were playin' house for many years before they got married. Happens.
We know Jim died many years ago (in the 70's?) and Jennifer had a show business career she abandoned almost 20 years ago. Does anybody know what became of the talented Jane Roberts?

It also says Jennifer was born in Chicago in 1960. Jim Runyon wasn't in Chicago until 65.
