From The Ville Voice - Joe Elliott

I LOVE the replays of AT 40 and listen to it every weekend. Reminds me of the old Joe Donovan program, listening to the songs as they rise and fall on the chart. Song of those songs I haven't heard in years.

Exactly. Many of those songs will never be heard on oldies radio if they didn't make the top 10. WAKY 103.5 does sneak in some more obscure ones though and some songs that were big in Louisville. I heard Deep Purple's version of Kentucky Woman on there the other afternoon and couldn't believe it.

I used to love listening to Joe Donoavan doing his overnight program,, tons of airchecks of that guy,, In fact Joe Elliot used to do weekend overnight oldies,,, would have never thought he would end up a Right Wing Talk show host back then. If you count the oldies program,, hasnt Joe elliot been there longer than 20 years.

Excellent news. The day before my birthday. Good job WGTK. Glad you are hiring local people to host local shows. I'm done with WHAS for good now as Joe E's show was the only thing I listened to any more. Now I can delete a preset on my car radio. I wonder if he will have guests on from time to time. WHAS is a pitiful shadow of a once great station that is now another CC cookie cutter. I'm still waiting for the ball to drop on WLW when CC gets rid of the live local 24-7 news and weather there.

Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear Joe on the web again. Do you think WGTK will hire any more local talk show hosts?
Will WGTK keep his show on a permanent bases?

What is WHAS up to these days as far as local talk show goes? At one time, around ten years ago, WHAS was live almost 24 hours a day.

When do you expect CC gets rid of the live local 24-7 news and weather on WLW? I doubt that will happen any time in the near future.
