I have been out of town the last couple of weeks on business in Columbus, Ohio. While traveling through Louisville, KY on my way to and from Columbus, I had the misfortune of FINALLY hearing the Gen-X station that several posters on this board keep suggesting that either Jack-FM or 97.1 WRQQ switch to. Let me tell you, I WAS NOT IMPRESSED with the Gen-X Format. It sounds like a MUCH WIMPIER VERSION of Jack FM. I listened for about 30 minutes or so before I had to turn it off. In that 30 minutes, I heard one song that I actually cared for, with the other songs being mainly '90's FLUFF by artists such as the Cranberries, Savage Garden and other light weight pop hits that you can still hear on Mix 92.9 on a daily basis.
For the posters that keep asking for the Gen-X format in Nashville, I have one question for you. Have you even heard the Gen-X on the air anywhere? Or is it just some new "HOT" format that you've read about in trade publications?
