Gene Hackman, Oscar-Winning 'Unforgiven' and 'French Connection' Actor, Dead at 95
Gene Hackman, the Oscar-winning 'Unforgiven' and 'French Connection' actor who was an onscreen fixture for 40 years, has died at 95.
Considering the dog died too that’s my thought as well. His wife was substantially younger than he was so I'm guessing it was not natural causes. Carbon monoxide is what it sounds like. Very sad. He had so many great performances over the years.
Or two suicides, one being possibly assistedHis wife was substantially younger than he was so I'm guessing it was not natural causes. Carbon monoxide is what it sounds like. Very sad.
The gas company has been brought in to investigate their deaths.Or two suicides, one being possibly assisted
Seems very unlikely as the dog was also found dead.Or two suicides, one being possibly assisted
More info is coming out. 1 of the 3 dogs died. The other two were fine. They ruled out any gas issues.Seems very unlikely as the dog was also found dead.
Carbon Monoxide poisoning is unfortunately common. No need for speculation at this point.
Hopefully, the Oscar telecast will give Hackman a worthy tribute...

I’m going to speculate that tbolt was wrong.More info is coming out. 1 of the 3 dogs died. The other two were fine. They ruled out any gas issues.
Instead of speculating on suicide, let's give them some dignity. Whether I'm wrong is irrelevant.I’m going to speculate that tbolt was wrong.
Discussion groups are based on speculation
I’m going to speculate that blood gas will explain a lot
Or an evil genius for comedic effect, like Lex Luthor in the Christopher Reeve Superman movies in the '70s and '80s. Or playing an quiet obsessive, like in The Conversation. Hackman was such an all-around versatile "everyman" actor in so many movies, TV guest roles, and even on Broadway. (Does anyone know if he ever had a starring role in a network TV series?)Just watched Extreme Measures, I forgot what a great villain Gene Hackman could play.
It has not been confirmed that the dog ate pills. You flat out made that up. The police say the dog was found in a crate and may have died of starvation. The 2 other surviving dogs were not confined. Both Hackman and his wife apparently had been dead for quite awhile.Foul play would rule out murder but not suicide. I think he died naturally. She died by suicide or accidental OD. The dog ate some pills beside her body and died. The other dog wasn’t a vacuum cleaner
You missed the part, or more likely chose to ignore it, where I stated “I think”. I was going off the information available at the time, that the dog was found “in a closet” close to Ms Arakawa. It has not been confirmed that the dog ate pills. You flat out made that up….
Yeah, you can think whatever you please. Inane comments like the "other dog wasn't a vacuum cleaner "show a lack of class. You missed the part, or more likely chose to ignore it, where I stated “I think”.
