Uuugggghhhh....Mo'nique! There's probably nobody more loud or annoying than her.
I would they've been talking about making a "Dallas" movie for years, at least the 5-6 years. Larry Hagman said himself that he would like to see Bruce Willis in the role of J.R. Ewing. And by reading the article above, I see the city of Dallas pining real hard to get the filmakers to shoot the movie there, which would be a great idea, because it add authenticity to the film. I wonder why Fox, and not Warner Brothers (who inheirited the Lorimar-Telepictures library), is producing this film, unless WB is owning a stake in the film. I don't know how successful this "Dallas" movie will be, but I'll watch, since I'm a fan of the show.
As for Kotter, Ice Cube's films do great money-wise, and I'm sure it will make a nice profit because a lot of the films he produces through his company are smaller-budgeted (about $5-10 million), which means he might use a lot of unknowns in the roles of the Sweathogs. And since Gabe Kaplan will be involved in the project, I think the movie's quality will be fine, as long as it sticks to the original spirit of the TV show.
