Give it up WWNQ!

I suggested Radio Disney a long time back. If you haven't listened to RD, it is easy to slam. But at its core, its a very well done national CHR aimed at young parents and to teens. Its radio done with the typical Disney quality control. Maybe a little too squeaky clean for some.

As for AAA, they couldn't do an easy format right, they'd definitely not do a very difficult format correctly. AAA is as hard as Jazz or Classical to program to a mass audience. And if if you got it correct, you have to wait 3+ years to accrue an audience and revenue.
 
For those thinking Columbia radio is boring, come to Greenville. Things have changed in Columbia way more than Greenville. A market that is truly set in its ways and is seemingly allergic to change with limited variety.
 
Radio Training's "His Radio" signed on 100.5 in Charleston last year - I wonder if they would be interested in expanding in the Columbia market. That would give them coverage of the 4 big cities in SC (Greenville, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, and Columbia). Just a thought.
 
I would not mind if they did because it would give WMHK some badly needed competiton. I think it could be good for the Columbia market and it looks like RTN seems to be buying lower powered stations in similar markets.
 
Way-FM could be another contender along with K-Love and HIS Radio. The translator at 95.9 throws pretty decent coverage over the metro with the simulcast of 1470 WQXL.
 
Listening to "Flashback" must give any radio person hives! It drives me nuts to listen to the station. I think a well done classic hits or classic rock would do well. But get it off the bird, Columbia is too big for a sat. feed station.
 
I liked Flashback when they first signed on in '08, but now I can't keep it on there longere than 2 songs! The audio processing is horrible and the station is way out of focus. Why can't someone TAKE A CHANCE?
 
Not only is the processing bad on 94.3, but if you have listened to WWNU lately their processing is just as bad on the other end of the spectrum and it sounds like it is coming out of a tin can, it is time for Double O to do something with both of these properties and I would love a K-LOVE or HIS Radio to come in and think it could be done successfully.
