Glenn Beck #1

According to a "flash" on Drudge, Glenn Beck's new book is #1 on the NY Times best-seller list for week of Dec. 9. Yes, Dec. 9. How do they know already?

The publisher "buys" the first 20,000 copies, making it number one. Common industry practice.

...but he's the Number 3 national talker according to the constant references on KT'R. Is being #3 something you'd want to brag about?

Actually, #3 aint 1/2 bad for Beck. :D

Drop the annoying sidekick and he has a shot at #2! ;D

If Beck is so good, why doesn't Russ ("Master Blogger") Hill blow out Ned & Connie in the coveted morning slot!!!???
Instead there's a SIX HOUR DELAY!

BFD about his unorginal titled book being #1 (BTW, haven't you read Drudge lately that less people are reading books!):
Beck is boring, bland and vanilla and is only doing well because there's no competetion. Can you say OVERRATED and OVERPAID!

That'll happen when Sheriff Joe gets mic fight! Beck is an improvement over McBland, but the Nurse and I question why KT'R runs a guy so similar to Rush and Sean at the same time they're on the air. The Master Blogger doesn't think things through before letting it all hang out on 92~Three. To quote one of their over used positioners...It just sounds badder.

With DST having ended it's now a five-hour delay.

Which is still a heck of a delay. Does Snoozetalk 92/3 KT'R-FM
run a disclaimer over the show open? Something like...

"When you hear phone numbers given out, do not call. Our
MasterBlogger PD, in his infinite wisdom, chooses to run the
Beckster five hours after it airs live."

Or perhaps an updated version of the old KOOL-TV "hands" ID...

"Blessed is the station that delays the Beck, KTAR-FM
Glendale/Phoenix...on tape."

Every time someone asks you to cite specific examples with audio to support your position, you are unable to. Once a troll, always a troll Henry.

I know, I know, everyone who is the least bit conservative is racist. Right right, we heard you the first 500,000 times.

1. The link gives a specific example. Beck called Katrina survivors "scumbags". He called Cindy Sheehan a "prostitute". His hate mongering is well chronicled (see http://mediamatters.org/issues_topics/people/glennbeck)… …yes, you'll disparage the source, but not utter one word to refute the CONTENT of the charges contained there within…

2. No, not everyone "who is the least bit conservative" is a racist, and I have never ever claimed that to be so. But there is a block of conservatism that is deeply entrenched in racism. And Beck, Savage and to some degree Limbaugh are all indeed guilty of pandering to this audience set.

3. As long as such filth goes across the airwaves in direct violation of the "public interest", I'll rail against it no matter how many fans these beacons of intolerance/hate and modern day "Father Coughlin" types protest…

Beck was a GREAT radio personality in Phoenix - in the 80's. Glenn & Tim were perhaps the BEST duo the valley has ever seen!

And we're bickering over lists...

1. KTTH in Seattle just moved Beck to mornings from PMD. But KTAR is trying to be more than just a talk station, it wants a news presence.

2. 1% of people ever call in. The six people who try and any given day can sit and listen to the phone ring 92 times before hanging up.

3. I wouldn't say Beck is vanilla; that's Neal Boortz's job.

4. We're all paid what we're worth. Radio Econ 101: A talk host's job is to fill the gaps between stopsets. The more people that listen to the gaps, the more the spots cost, the bigger the host's cut becomes. Whether the host is good, bad, boring, etc.

...and a traffic presence, a sports presence, a weather presence. The Master Blogger still things KT'R can be a general store while KFWhyEye concentrates on one thing and kicks his butt. Not bad for an AM station!

...exactly right. You listen for the entertainment value, not to hear Aunt Edna talking about how much rain Sun City received.

3. I wouldn't say Beck is vanilla; that's Neal Boortz's job.

...and old school KT'R talkers Pppppreston Westmoreland, Pat McBland, Michael Dixon & the Luvable One. We wonder if there is a contractual prohibition against re-runs of Glenn Beck. Rusty Humphries on the weekend is an annoying joke and we get the same thing from Gaydos during the week!

...you sound like a recent grad of our Buckeye Media Hut, where Nurse Jeff and I remind young students that radio is still show biz.
