Sky News and Sky Sports News were off air on Friday after the broadcasters were caught up in an international outage around Microsoft cloud services.www.broadbandtvnews.com
It is sensationalistic. I added another article that gives a bigger picture of the problem. But Microsoft Azure having issues isn't a Global IT Outage. It's a problem for those using Microsoft's Azure cloud platform.
Agreed. Where I work relies really heavily on AWS and their cloud platform. Amazon Web Services had something like five outages or periods with limitations last year.It is sensationalistic. I added another article that gives a bigger picture of the problem.
It's affecting flights all over the world, so that's "Global". Banking, Hospitals, "911 calls" and others are also experiencing issues. I expect they will get it resolved.Agreed. You never saw titles like Global IT Outage being thrown around even though a lot of businesses were affected.
Excuse me?! You’re the only one who’s having a total meltdown about a title on forum. 😂It would have been nice to do some research to determine whether it's hyperbole or what exactly.
A "meltdown" by asking what you meant by a Global IT outage? Seems like you might be prone to hyperbole.Excuse me?! You’re the only one who’s having a total meltdown about a title on forum. 😂
I’d you would’ve done your research and taken 2 seconds to search “Global IT Outage” in your favorite search engine, you would’ve found your answer. Have a great day! 🙂A "meltdown" by asking what you meant by a Global IT outage? Seems like you might be prone to hyperbole.
At one point all of the airports in India were down. Sounds global to me.It's affecting flights all over the world, so that's "Global". Banking, Hospitals, "911 calls" and others are also experiencing issues. I expect they will get it resolved.
It seems that the threads holding modern society together are extremely fragile...
I also noticed early this morning that WINS was using an old top-of-hour ID/music bed that just said 1010 WINS and doesn't mention 92.3 FM.Our local Audacy all news radio station (KYW in Philly) stated they couldn’t get some music cues (eg intro to traffic reports) working Also, for some period their prerecorded overnight news wasn’t running as I heard national CBS news long form programs around 4:30 AM
For what it's worth, I wasn't criticizing your thread title when I said sensationalistic.I just titled this post how our industry has reported it. I didn’t just make this up. I actually changed the title a couple of times before I landed on, “Global IT Outage”.
