GOLD company charged...Talk radio ramifications? ad dollars at risk?

Maybe a repeat of the Sonny Bloch/Deangelos brothers scandal of the 90's?
 
are other formats responsible for the honesty amd validity of their sponsers ?why is talk radio suddenly responsible?
 
Can you imagine the reaction if Ed Schultz was their spokesman instead of the far right wing talk show hosts...Beck, Hannity etc ?!

Because often these talk radio hosts actually promote Goldline so it sounds like they are customers of Goldline. They are actually endorsing the product so they should be responsible if this products turns out to be a complete fraud.

Should the government really go out and protect people stupid enough to buy a product endorsed by Wallbanger or the Hemmorid with Ears?

How many of you guys have actually worked at a radio station done live reads? I'm going to assume most of you have from what I've been able to tell.

Now think about what would happen if the local insurance agent that you do live reads for got busted for ripping people off. Would you want your name in every single headline? Think about that next time before you pile on just because you dislike Glenn Beck.

These guys aren't some small local program reading advertisements for some Joe Smoe financial advisor, these guys get paid handsomely for plugging these guys. Wallbanger, Groucho Marx on Laughing Gas, HWE, and others even appear on the Goldline website for testimonials.

These guys assigned their name for testimonials to a fraudulant company. It's their responsibility to either investigate or have someone on their staff investigate these companies. Whatever happened to the personal responsibility these people push for everyone but themselves? They open themselves up to lawsuits if these sponsors are charged with fraud.

Kim Kommando states she investigates all of her sponsors to make sure they are legit and she also makes sure that she actually uses the services of the companies she sponsors. If a 3 hour weekend show can do this, a 5 day a week show can.
 
If someone gives a personal endorsement, investigate, if it is just an ad run during your show then not that big of a deal. I think that Ed guy does advertise a gold outfit by the way. Of course some people do free voice overs for sponsors as well. I worked for a company that took out newspaper ads, and in fact the newspaper did do some work in determining what we were selling was available. Ebay and paypal doe some screening as well. So: "over mediums don't screen so why should radio?..." Not sure that works.

Good for Kim. That makes her a more credible endorsement. It still doesn't change the fact that the reporting on this story makes it sound like Glenn Beck was personally breaking into the homes of little old ladies and beating them with a blackjack before taking their family jewels. The responses in this thread show how easily people are influenced by dishonest reporting like that. You'd think people who work in radio would know better, but I guess even there political alliances outweigh common sense.
 
i think alan colmes advertises for them.he does for one gold company.if his sponser does that is he responsible too?

The reporting doesn't make it sound like the way you described it and you know it. The HWE appears on Goldline's website and we can hear him actively pushing Goldline. http://www.goldline.com/testimonials-glenn-beck The HWE, Wallbanger, Laura Ingraham, Alan Colms, and Groucho Marx on Laughing Gas can (and should be) held accountable if the company they are pushing are is guilty of fraud.
 
i reread the article in the link in the first post. funny the only radio host mentioned who advertised the product was glen beck.could it be the writer hated him enough to single him out ignoring the others?

the radio hosts who advertise a product are not responsible for the validity or honesty of the company they advertise.to attack the host for what the company they advertise is a just a cheap shot to attack the radio host.not anywhere close to legitimate.

More likely, the reporter heard "This gold company Glenn Beck does live reads for is being charged with something" and was too lazy to investigate it any further.

You're right. There's some people who post here (multiple times) with knee-jerk anti-Beck/conservativetalk reactions like that reporter.

I saw Don Lapre on every tv channel a few years back. He died in jail a couple weeks back. Nobody made any threads when that was going down. It's only some people on talk radio who get mentioned....

They looked at Ed but he doesn't get the ratings to justify a national buy on his radio show. Believe me...the lefties would have been taking the gold money too if they had an audience.

Glenn Beck is mentioned in 80% of the headlines of this story. Your constant use of childish nicknames for the various hosts shows that you obviously have some kind of grudge.
 
it seems that some people can`t wait for reasons to trash glen beck.why are the poeople doing that trash alan colmes for his talking about gold mine also.

is it selective bashing?
