Good job Kicks 101.5 !

Looks like Kicks ended their ban on the Dixie Chicks they were played @ 1255pm according to YES.com

I was at my neighbors house last night chillin' on his deck and he had The Bull on. He used to listen to Kicks and switched because he said they had gone astray. I told him I had heard Kicks had tweaked their music, so he flipped it on and we caught them in a break but they came OUT of the break with "Pickup Man" Joe Diffie, followed by a 2 yr old Kenny Chesney hit. It sounded so good. He dug it too and is back with Kicks. He's 42. I'm...not.

The 1990s were boom years for the country format. The music of the decade brought in a lot of rock fans who didn't like rock's shift to grunge, active rock, etc. and were tired of the same-old-same-old Stairway to Hotel Freebird on classic rock stations.

It also alienated hard-core lovers of traditional country like myself. I was doing lots of radio work at the time and I thought I'd puke the first time I played and heard the Kentucky Headhunters. I blame the Headhunters for the decline and death of traditional country.

You are blaming a "One Hit" act for the demise of "traditional country"? IIRC a lot of the the acts (Cash, L Lynn, Jones, etc.) got too rich (I would like to get too rich too) took a little time off to spend some of their money. I am not blaming them. I would too. Personally I would have a hard time traveling and doing 200 or more shows a year with several million in the bank! IMHO Country acts have to tour. The fans expect and deserve it.

Hope they expand their playlist, been hearing repeats of the older songs especially by George, Jo Dee Messina, Tim, Faith and Garth
