Goodbye London - UK Streamers to halt external service?

And, how did you locate a UK based proxy server? This wouldn't seem to be an easy task - particularly the setup. But, I'd love to have a little direction. Thanks!!

there's many places on-line that list proxy servers.

then you just set it up in your browsers settings and away you go.

the surfing will be a lot slower, but your just using it to hit the radio stations web site that one time, so you can get your player to link with the stream.

AZwerebear, you're a godsend! Thank you for telling us about this! It works for UK stations like Heart FM, Kiss 100, and some others but I'm having trouble getting a station called Kingdom FM (http://www.kingdomfm.co.uk). It blocks me from getting it in both through their site player and the Windows Media Player url. The proxy server address I'm trying to use is: 212.241.168.186 Port 80. I probably will have to post a new thread to get a good response but I'll keep trying different proxy servers for that station! If anyone knows a good different proxy for that one let me know or post it here! Thanks so much everyone, especially AZwerebear!

WITH ALL THE CRAP COMING FORM THE USA ABOUT STREAMING AND ALL......

Its disgusting and SOME DAY THERE WILL NO LONGER BE FREE RADIO.. (Your car radio,etc)
 
I live in Indiana, USA and right now I'm hearing Classic FM - their online stream comes in just fine. Maybe Classic FM didn't get the message?

It seems either the rules are no longer being enforced or broadcasters no longer care. Capital Gold's player had a prompt asking you to enter a London Postal Code; since their merger with Classic Gold to become "Gold" there's no longer any blocking. They seem quite happy to have American listeners (and to sell us T-Shirts and the like).
 
Well, I can say this-when I try to get a BBC EPL soccer match, I get the message: "Legal requirements prevent us from bringing you live sport action on the internet. Please visit our chatrooms, which are open during all matches." So you have to learn the results second-hand from the people in the chat room. Well...
 
TheBigBum, what that means is that in the case of football (soccer) while BBC has the rights to broadcast matches to their audiences, they are however not allowed to stream them on their website. if you go to bbc's live five and look at their schedule, there are some sports coverage they can stream online, and others they cant
