Gray purchases Meredith station group

That could be just for one day. Could see Gray changing some of the Sub Channels because Gray station in Topeka carries H and I and Start TV could add those to KC area by replacing Shoplc and so on.

maybe KCTV is desperate for some more $ since they haven't gotten any Chiefs games since late October and won't until the Raiders game next week, but then the Thursday night Charges game is on Fox (WDAF)
 
The NFL schedule goes out months in advance, so as to allow affiliate stations across the country to prepare their budgets for the months of the year when football season is in progress. So that can't be the reason.

More likely, Gray wants their new stations to move on from the Meredith days, in order to make a clean break. I don't know if it makes business sense for them to do that but it's not my call, anyway.
 
I know when Wood TV was owned by LIN TV never said LIN TV was always Wood TV LLC even with Media General still using it other than at the bottom of the website wasn't until Nexstar took over was when they used Nexstar at the end of the newcast with the chimes. When WXMI Fox17 the day of Nexstar & Tribune merger went final WXMI still had Tribune very tiny then that Friday they had Scripps in tiny letters, didn't get the lighthouse until following Monday in Sep of 2019.

Sony is taking People The TV Show! national in fall of 2022 as I read an article on it last fall. Maybe in a month, more will be said but that is just my opinion be good if Gray is the launch group for People The TV Show!?

No chance in hell Gray would do so. That was a Meredith thing and its no more.

Gray will do things their way and People! is not one of them. News is their name, not entertainment (though they do own a part of Circle).
 
For the time being, WGCL is still running People (as is WPCH).

Don't the locals decide on what to pick up for syndication?
 
In Phoenix, KTVK had Entertainment Tonight at 6:30PM for years. Once People TV started, ET got bumped to 11:30PM. We will see if that changes in the future.
