So what IS their time frame. THE HAWK moves to 104.9 November 4th. 101.5 remains...quiet at that point? 99.1 can keep Franki-ing for awhile.
Somebody has to do something fairly soon.
Buyers remorse, maybe?
Jeff and his crew are
VERY smart business folks.
Just a thought, seeing the value drop and lack of any other buyers they may be looking to renegotiate.
Once the deal closes the cost of doing business will explode. Electric bills, taxes, payroll, Hooksett lease, tower rentals, just to name a few.
Formats for 99.1 and 102.3? All of the good ones are taken. Are you prepared to spend to go to battle?
Can you make money with these? What will be attractive to the advertisers? They've had great success with TPL. A niche format that many advertisers love.
101.5? Do you want to spend that kind of cash to simulcast?
Will the advertisers be willing to pay more? Most likely not.
What will the value be of these in say 2-5 or 10 years? The landscape was a whole lot different in 1999.
None of us can predict the future but you need to look down the road.
Take a look at the Verizon-Fairpoint deal. You didn't need a masters in business to figure this one out.
Verizon saw the future and it ain't land lines. Fairpoint was obviously not smart enough to take a deep breath, leave their egos at the door and realize what they were getting themselves in to.
There were no other buyers waiting in line, why not take your time and purchase on your terms or be prepared to walk.
Just my two cents rubbing together.
