Greatest Endings In Rock and Roll

Okay, this is pretty self explanatory, somewhat of a follow up to Hornet69's thread, "Greatest Intros In Rock". How many songs have great endings, even if only a single note, for example:

Her Majesty - The Beatles

or a sound byte:

Piggies - The Beatles

Sorry, the name is Hornet61. That was who started the thread "Greatest Intros In Rock".

A Day In The Life--The Beatles

As an added note, my nomination for the worst ending to any R&R record is "Apple Cider" by the Five By Five (1968)

This is a tough one to think of, but I like the ending of Dion's "Abraham, Martin & John" from 1968. The harp-type sound fading at the end was always attractive to the ear! A great song overall, what the 60's were all about.

I have five:
The Great Pretender - The Platters.
"STILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAROUNDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD"

Gone - Ferlin Husky (It counts, even though it has country roots)
The soaring female backing vocal's four octave high bellowing "Now You've Goooo-ooooonnnne!!!!!!!!" Totally steals the show.

White Punks on Dope (live version) - The Tubes
The most drawn out finish ever (2+ minutes)

And as mentioned before, A Day in the Life - The Beatles
The eternal chord

Over The Hills And far Away - Led Zeppelin

god bless the child - BS&T
blue tango - les baxter
DOA - bloodrock
no mercy for swine - cherry poppin' daddies
riders on the storm - doors
atomic dog - george clinton (wooooof, wooooof)
joy- apollo 100
my bologna - wierd al yankovic
closing theme "mickey mouse Club" - mouseketeers............why because we like you!!!!

Theme from Shaft - Isaac Hayes

One of the outros that I actually don't like is "Realize" by Colbie Caillat. It has a false finish, but them comes back and gives the impression that the song is about to continue, into another verse or chorus, or at least a solo, but then as soon as it gets going again, it just ends! It promises more, but fails to deliver! (I would also take out the guy singing "harmony" vocals with her, because he is out of key, and actually detracts from the song!)

I like the drumming at the end of "How to Save a Life" by the Fray, and I was actually surprised that most stations let that play through until it finishes! If it had been a fading drum outro (such as "She Blinded Me with Science" by Thomas Dolby, another one that I like), they might not have been as generous in letting it play out.
