Greatest Endings In Rock and Roll

School's Out - Alice Cooper (winds down to zero)
War Pigs - Black Sabbath (winds up to infinity)

On the "intros" thread, I posted the single mix of "Another Brick in the Wall," part 2 by Pink Floyd. But here, I am suggesting the album version for the outro. "If you don't eat your meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat your meat? And you! Yes, you behind the bikestands! Stand still, laddy!" Yes, I looked that up on a lyrics website. The British accent is so thick that I couldn't otherwise have understood even half of that!

Make Me Smile - Chicago

Supertramp, "Take the Long Way Home." This one usually got butchered when played on top 40 radio back in the day, but at least classic rock stations let it finish. It has a definite ending. The repeating "long way home" at the end does not fade out, as top 40 radio would have had you to believe. It does come to a definite finish.

This thread has morphed into the weird and obscure and irrelevant. "Greatest Endings" to me means something memorable!!

Fade outs are a great ending?? Gimme Dat Ding? Gimme A Break.

LP cuts somehow don't correlate to this forum's title.

The birds chirping at the end of Layla, now that is more like it. I think, if I do say so myself, that the ends of Running Scared and Bridge Over Troubled Water are memorable, classic, and end with a climax. ;)
