Forever--Pete Drake
Some Pete Drake trivia:
Pete developed his “talking steel guitar” sound by using a hollow plastic tube (from his amplifier) which was inserted in the side of his mouth. He mouthed the lyrics of his tunes silently and the tones of his steel were modulated as though it were his vocal chords, then amplified by an external mic.

That reminds me of ELO's talking cellos and synthesizer. I was always fascinated by them whenever I went to an ELO concert.

Do you remember the early synthesizers, the tone frequency was controlled by the capacitance of the artist's hands above the unit? This was long before today's computers and electronic state-of-the-art.

I have seen them, but I do not remember them from experience. I also looked synthesizers up, only to find that the first one was actually invented in the late 1800s!
