Guess this explains why K-Love Bought 'KLU

The fact that stations and networks use that technology instead of having people's butts in chairs in real time is what 95 percent of R-I is bitching about. Real radio people pack the UHaul every two years :-D
Well at least this one is real time ... just at a better time to be live in Indiana than in California.

It is a brave new world where people don't have to be at the station to be live.

Another complaint I have about EMF is they can buy several stations, and change a commercial station to a non com. Bonneville puts the Mormon Channel on HD, so why can't EMF do the same thing put K Love on HD, and left WKLU like it was? I see a non com of CC coming, and if something don't change they may end up the king of radio. Maybe EMF should buy 107.9 so we can hear K Love on 107.9 with Air 1 on 101.9 / 90.5

I know these are only my opinions but I think there is some people I know that might be mad at me over my comments...

Why would K-Love want to buy stations and put their programming on HD where very few will hear it. Much fewer listeners, souls "saved", not to mention donations.

In the future HD FM could become more useful than now, people that have an HD radio told me they don't hear any hiss between the stations, they either have a station or they don't. They said HD AM sounds better than analog.

Most "don't".

Maybe instead of increasing the power on HD like they talk about maybe there could be a way to increase the gain on the receiving antenna. I remember back when I put a signal amplifier in my car with a directional antenna, could get WHHH at Fair Oaks mall with WJAA on but the amplifier had to be on.

Another thing that could helped radio years back, if all car radio's would let you tune on the even numbers. If WKLU 101.9 was on 102.0 this would let WURK 101.7 come in a little better without as much interference.

I know there is people that may think I'm against EMF and K Love but I will say I'm not crazy about them but I'm not totally against them, but I feel they try to over do things and take advantage of having to many stations or translators.

Not enough radios ... gotta put the content on the signal that will be heard. Besides, their mission is to broadcast the K-Love signal, not to maintain local formats (which would need to be stripped of commercials to go non-comm and individually programmed). It is much cheaper to simply feed all the stations from a main studio serving the entire country.

Air1's Morning show is also moving to the KLU Studios so it can have a 6 Eastern start time.

And the reason they couldn't start at 6 Eastern in CA is...?

You people really are clueless. So full of these conspiracy theories and other garbage and nothing to back them up besides "someone I know who knows somebody who's dating a cousin of a K-Love jock said..." There needs to be a snopes.com type site for R-I posts.

The reason they couldn't (or, more accurately, wouldn't prefer) to start at 6 eastern in California is because that means they're basically working third shift radio. They'd have to be up and around probably at least by 2 AM local every day to be on air at 3, I'd guess. Possibly even earlier?

But from Indy (which of course is on ET year round now) they can get up maybe at 4 or 5 and have plenty of time to get ready and be on air at 6.

Also - this is actually confirmed at hisair.net - http://www.hisair.net/news1.htm .
