Guesses on 96.5?

Logged in from school.... I think that it will be a mainstream top 40 and that it will have jocks almost instantly. I don't think it will do SUPER GOOD but it will be good enough and beat Mix 94.1 as well. Movin' pretty much out of the question now. I sure do hope it's not rock. I hear enough of it as it is and being in Dayton with The X and TUE, what more could I ask for?

You can log in from school? Lucky! My school blocks this site for some reason and it really ticks me off.

Disco John canyou provide your source fior the info it would help us to let us know you did not make this up, I dont even see the new Mojo in the list.

The calls are right...but isn't The Star staying on 94.9 after the simulcast ends? That's the way I understand it. Besides, traditional oldies are not faring as well these days. I would hope that Cumulus isn't crazy enough to launch a second FM Oldies station in Cincy, not to mention the one on AM as well. I thought that Rhythmic AC might be coming but it sure looks to me like CC might be making a move with Mix. If Cumulus doesn't make a sensible move quickly, their options may be a bit more limited very soon.....

Sorry guys. I don't think the new station on 96.5 will be oldies.
Other than the business reasons (declining format, etc.) The information from mediaguide.com is outdated - picking up from the past format (Mojo) on 94.9.
If you look at your RDS system on your car radio, it still shows the frequency as "oldies".
My money is still on Movin' or Jack-type format.
Stay tuned!

No problem ncincy1. I wondered about it if was outdated, but when I saw the call letters as WPRV, I thought that maybe they knew something. Cumulus has some new stations that are Rock-N-Roll hits of the 60's & 70's and I didn't know if they were launching one in Cincy or not. Not sure about a no compete claus either with the new MoJo.

Logged in from school....Yes I am 14 I have school LOL. Anyway, I doubt oldies. I think it will be CHR or Movin'.

You guys...that list above can't be right. It has to be old calls or something. It shows 96.5's calls as WYGY. That is from the Young Country days.

96.5 is WYGY and has been since 1/1993

It can't be The River. There's already like 4 rivers receivable where I'm from. The Planet would be nice considering it would probably be a "Dance format". If it's RV, chances are it's a "Jack or Classic". I am hoping something good. Did anybody consider that maybe the call-letters are just call-letters. For example, WDKF is Channel 94-5... it could stand for Dayton's Kiss Format and technically it is a KISS format but NEVER MIND. Anyway, gimme something good. Cinci needs to get Movin'!

Oh Lord! I hate to admit it but it makes sense.

PRV: Planet Richmond Virginia

That just may be where they got it from and I certainly hope it's not. If it's Classic Rock, it's gonna be boring.
Cumulus, please do something right for once.

I liked the idea of the Hank format. When WCVG played that classic country stuff for a few weeks, I tuned in and thought..."wow, they really suck...but it's cool to hear some of these songs again."

My wish would be for someone to take Imus away from the Middletown folks <who keep preempting the show for PSAs>, and put it on in the mornings with a classic..or Hank...country format the rest of the day. This city suuuure loves old songs..on paper, it makes sense to me.

However, that's the listener in me talkin and not the business guy. I don't know if it would make any moolah. Just cuz *I* like something doesn't make it viable.
