Happy Trails, Cledus

I think the show could have succeeded with a main host, who shared top billing with Cledus and ran the show. Cledus could have chimed in with comedy.

In the beginning, Paul Koffy sounded like an interpreter. He'd outro the songs and say it was the Cledus T Party. Then Cledus would take it from there. Later, Slam Duncan did the same. It just had a strange flow to it. If a strong host who ran the show had identified the song, said a few words about the weather and brought up a topic, and then Cledus chimed in with a funny line, the show would have sounded a lot better.

But the show's burden was pretty much on Cledus once the "interpreter" announced the last song although Kristen was there in a supporting role; and that burden was too much for him.

Kristen can pull off any format she wants. She is very talented and under utilized.

Right, I can hear on WSB-AM as I type, Let's see she was a producer at Star and did morning on new country stations. You're right she is truly gifted, if not WSB-AM maybe Wanda will step aside and give the gifted on e a chance.

Interestingly in the past I noticed the same on The Giant Brian Sow on Project with Shaffe being the one doing all the outro's out of the songs. I always thought it sounded a little odd. Perhaps it is a Clear Channel directive.

wow, now what happens? Rumor has it around town he is talking with V 103. Anyone know anything??? Curious would that work out, i think it woulb be cool! Kinda of a fish out of water thing! agree?

Something gives me a feeling that all-Christmas is coming (not just all-Country Christmas) this week under "Christmas 94.9" or something....then they flip the (cough) "lite" switch 12-26 or either 1-1-09 if they are trying to compete with Cox.

I heard after a month of non-stop sounds of the season, 94.9 will be re-launched playing all backward masking of metal and classic rock as "94.9: The Sounds of Satan". The station will also have a mascot who will show up pitchfork and all at selected home Braves games.

The Bull is telling listeners to tune in on Wednesday at noon to hear a surprise they have, something they've never done before, a holiday gift to their listeners.
Hmmm.

Yes I'am avaliable thank you very much,I will call 94.9 later this morning to inqiure about the opening. Cledus is a nice guy,I was hping he would atleast get a year to try to make something happen. Paul Koffey was good at outroing songs and so was Slam. Jamie was hot, guys tuned in just to hear her and hopes of getting a date. Rhubarb is still under contract, unless CC is willing to pay for the buy out. Surley 94.9 can find someone to take Kicks head on.

Hmmm.

"Going away" is a gift?

Well, I guess it could be considered as such to some. :)

Wednesday at noon will be Christmas music....Bull name will be dropped. New format will come after Christmas...but what? Atlanta can definately support more than one AC.. Thoughts?

Maybe Rodney covers TRG...because they have something going on.

Yeah, like the fact that they still interview strippers. Welcome to 1994 everybody. Groundbreaking bits like that must be why their ratings are through the roof.

Hmmm.

If it's Christmas music, why are they saying it's something they've never done before?

Maybe it's Korean Christmas music.
Warning, bad ethnic joke ahead.

If that's the case, will the first song played on Korean Christmas be the barking dogs doing "Jingle Bells"?

Lord, I apologize for that right there, and please be with the starvin' pygmies down there in New Guinea, Amen.

If memory serves correctly, haven't they done a very Country-leaning Christmas since flipping to the Bull? Maybe this time it will be mainstream Christmas (like Lite FM did)....I guess that could be something the Bull has never done.

Yeah, twice a month out of 80 hours a week and they make a contest out of it. The rest is music and dead air. Sure you've been listening.

Moby playing Christmas Music with Rhubarb and MJ. The catch being that the Christmas music is sung by Cledus. Its the only way Clay H can bring the 94 9 to a 0.0 25 -54 by 1/1/2009 and thus become CEO of Clear Channel.

Commercial free Christmas will be the announcement at Noon on Wednesday. Kristen will hang on for a bit. Not long. They will re-launch and give it one more try in January with a new major market morning show. CC will ship a team in from somewhere.

Bob & Tom?

To tie another thread into this; how about Todd Clem?
