Harry Smith jumps to NBC

Maybe his own show on MSNBC.
Doubtful. He's at his best when he's just a news anchor. Don't expect him to replace Cenk Ugyer

He could however replace Chris Matthews at the 5:00 PM ET though since MSNBC only promotes his 7:00 PM airing (Which isn't even live BTW)

Why MSNBC hasn't done anything with the 5:00 PM ET hour after all these years is beyond me.....

I think that the CBS morning show was at its best when Harry Smith and Paula Zahn were the hosts. (a long time ago)

I completely agree! Smith and Zahn actually took This Morning to #2 at one point and beat Good Morning America(Kevin Newman and Lisa McRee era) there in the late 90s.

I preferred the version with Kathleen Sullivan and Harry Smith. I think Kathleen was the "male" figure and Harry was the warm and fuzzy "female". :D :D

Interesting that Harry Smith leaves CBS for NBC while Norah O'Donnell leaves NBC for CBS.

Anyways good luck to Harry; and I agree that he was 'underused' at CBS.

As many of us in the business know it does not help boost one's morale knowing that management doesn't appreciate one's work ethics and abilities.
