Has anybody heard of WKNY, it is a Cumulus station on 1490 AM in Kingston, NY and they're still playing AC, just like the three Lite-FM's. I looked up on the last Arbitrons from Fall that WKNY had no listeners becuase of the Lite-FM's is still doing. The station has a terrible signal. When you get into Poughkeepsie on a car, the station would fade out. That is still a low rated station. They got Warren Lawrence doing the afternoons Monday-Fridays playing AC as well as on weekends where he plays oldies for a couple of hours just like the way WBPM is doing at 92.9 is still playing right now, they also have the Sunday Garage Sale and some speciality shows and loads of AC music from Jones Satellite. Former WBPM's "Cool 94.3" jock Nick Robbins also do mornings on WKNY as well as generic top of the hour CBS Radio News programming. By the way, they don't have a website for WKNY and there was no Yankees on that station. "The Wolf" is still programming the Yankees broadcast from WCBS-AM on 94.3 only but 97.3 is still playing country. I don't see the Yankees are coming back to WKNY anytime soon. They stopped programming it in 2003 and they don't have any Yankees broadcast at all on AM except "The Wolf". WKNY is the worst station that Cumulus could give. Cumulus has "Mix 97.7" as well as WRRV, WPDH, "The Wolf" at 94.3/97.3 and who could never forget WKNY. Those three station is at Pendell Rd. and one station is on Broadway. Come on. I don't see why WKNY isn't listed in the Arbitrons. Maybe, you'll decide.
