Has Bay Area Radio gotten worse or what?!

Lets face it. From what I heard on the airwaves here in the Bay Area and what I read on this website, I agree, Bay Area radio in my opinion HAS gotten worse!
Radio stations constantlly changing formats(for example: we lose our ONLY country station in THIS market 95-7 The Bear to a mixture of Pop, Rock and R&B Variety formats station called "MAX!" and there is lack of variety of music formated radio stations in this market! What's worse, there's NO Mainstream Top 40 station in this market!!!!! But, there are still a few good reasons to listen to Bay Area radio: Wild 94-9 STILL has the BEST radio talent in this market(Mary Diaz 10am-2pm, St. John 2-6pm, Hoodrat Miguel 6-10pm and Xavier the "X" Man 10pm-2am and THE BEST RADIO SHOW IN THE BAY, THE SUNDAY NIGHT OLDIES SHOW, SUNDAYS FROM 7PM-MIDNIGHT!) K-FOX IS A GREAT CLASSIC ROCK STATION WITH GREAT TALENT AND THE IS THE BEST CLASSIC ROCK STATION IN THE WORLD, and STAR 101-3, has legendary on-air DJ's Don Bleu and the The Hot AC version of American Top 20 with none other than the king of countdowns, Casey Kasem(Ryan Seacreat Hosts the CHR version of AT40). If you want more variety, I suggest internet radio stations, here are some good internet radio stations:

CHR/POP 102.7 KIIS-FM in Los Angeles: www.kiisfm.com
106.1 KISS-FM in Dallas : www.1061kissfm.com
103.5 KISS-FM in Chicago : www.kisschicago.com
Z-100 in New York: www.z100.com

HOT AC 101.9FM The Mix in Chicago: www.wtmx.com

Country WGAR in Cleveland: www.wgar.com
US95-7 in San Diego www.us957.com

This is a partial list of good stations I would listen to on the web. What are your's? PLEASE let me know!
______________

sounds like somebody is trying to get his old job back!!!:) yeah, I can agree with everything you said about the bay area radio market, that's one of the reason's I left for sunny las vegas, and satellite radio, I would rather pay less than a dollar a day to listen to over 60 channels of commercial free music and talk channels, sports & entertainment. LV radio sounds pretty darn good, compared to what the bay area should be sounding like. Oh, and I've come to realize that there is no more MAINSTREAM CHR anymore, now it's RYTHMIC CHR!!! which means that white people are listening to kayne west, chris brown, BEP, and all the other rap crap out today. I miss the KMEL on 55 francisco st., that was REAL RADIO baby. the likes of rick chase, rosary, latin prince, evan luck, renel, john london, bill lee, franzen, michael erikson, gil alexander, and the inovative PD Michelle S., I still remember meeting her for a college media project, very laid back and knowledgable young lady at the time. heck, EVERY DAYPART had a great talent. I dare you to find that on ANY current bay area radio station now!!! oh, and the good ol'e days of evergreen media and chancellor broadcasting. anybody remember a TV show KMEL used to do on KPIX 5 with rick chase and renel??? oh, and when rick used to crazy stuff in front of the KPIX studios at like 6 in the morning LIVE on TV, and rick used to broadcast live from disneyland, this was waaaayyyy before digital editing too.......how many of you on this board still know how to do razor blade editing???? and how many stations still have a reel to reel as a back-up or the beloved cart machine...still buzzing in your studio or the smell of rubbing alcohol in studio B??? not many.:)

I would be more inclined to read your critiques of the market if you both would learn how to format paragraphs.

As it stands, both of you have posted rambles that I (and I suspect many others) will not take the time to wade through.
______________

ahhhhh, nobody said that radio people had to have some sort of education. plus, when was the last time you saw people formatting paragraph's in a BB setting?? This ain't a job interview, geeeezzzzz, I thought we all were 1 big happy family!!!:) Looks like somebody is gonna get some coal in there stocking for christmas!!! you are starting to act just like the nuns at my elementary school.

Are you saying that our beloved moderator has some bad habits?

I thought you were young, but I wasn't aware you hadn't made junior high yet...

Seriously, though, the moderator has a point. Just throw in a hit of the ENTER/RETURN key every so often, and your messages will be a lot easier to read. An unbroken string of one long paragraph makes it difficult to pull out your points.

Yes, I agree. Wild 6-7 years ago maybe , DEFINATELY! Star 101.3 in its hey day as K101, YES! K-Fox... I'm not old enough to TRULY appreciate Classic Rock radio yet, so no comment.

if these are the best talent, why do they lose in every daypart, 18-34?
just curious....

Ah yes... one of the great radio stations! Was fortunate enough to live in the Bay Area during that time. Maybe going back to how they were will bring back up their ratings too...?

Please stop showing your age by making sense and talking about things like punctuation, grammar, syntax and internet consideration. Thank you. And that goes for the rest of you who contributed similar missives in this sub-thread.

Long, run-on paragraphs are hard to read, just as all-caps is hard to read. The reason we have paragraphs is to group a single thought into a more easy to read and identify format. Don´t think of it as much as being a rule but as a way to get your ideas across more effectively.

They way you do it now makes most people ignore the whole post.

The original post seems to beg being filed under, "The older I get, the more I realize how little I know."

I am guessing that the massive run-on paragraph poster is in a lower demo.

And the response that got me laughing seems to need filing under "the older I get, the more sense I make."

Not that age gets any respect on this board.
______________

Respect? Heck, I'd be happy if there was a way to make the type bigger on this TV thing attached to my PC computer so I can actually read these posts without having to sit an inch away from the screen.

Dagnabbed whippersnappers.
