Has KUFX set a new record?

Hmmm. So you think KKSF (The Band) will outlast KSAN (The Bone)? I really think the personalities will define each of the stations. That is why i think KKSF will be the loser in this race though the potential of a KNBR-FM has me thinking. I still think, of the three, KKSF will be the one to change formats.

What personality(s) define KKSF? Celeste Perry? Scott Struber? The Bone has Lamont and Tonelli, Steven Seaweed and K-FOX has Greg Kihn, Big Rick; how does The Band differentiate from playing the same music as The Bone and K-FOX? What format could KKSF go to? 90's? Oldies? Active Rock?

I agree that The Band is personality-less, but I think that's by design. They're trying to be the KOIT of Classic Rock -- and they probably have focus-group results that tell them people want "deejays who don't talk too much". The Bone, meanwhile, could probably benefit from "going younger" -- if KFOG doesn't decide to go there first.

I have to agree that KKSF is (will) be the loser in Classic Rock, The Bone plays more of the Hard rock and metal classics with personality, and the Fox is more traditional with personality, CC is doing the same in all markets taking away the local talent in favor of their national feeds, since they're mostly jockless mite as well put a Jack, Bob, or whatever format, GEN X 80s and 90s, Active Rock, or Oldies on 103.7.

With the new frequency in SF I thought they put up a decent website also. Only what I see is 'listen live' and some Facebook and Twitter links at the moment.

If Entercom was successful in acquiring Citadel, we may be listening to KGO-FM at 103.7.

Clear Channel owns 103.7. And I believe its Cumulus that is (apparently still) interesting in acquiring Citadel.

Do you think Channel 92.3 KSJO will move their intellectual property over to 98.5 frequency and move 98.5 KUFX to 102.1?

The real question is what will Clear Channel do with KKSF (The Band) against Entercom's dual signal 98.5 and 102.1 K-FOX and Cumulus' KSAN (The Bone).
I think KKSF (The Band) will be the loser in this Classic Rock War.

I think that 103.7 will become "103.7 The Ticket" with CC's Fox Sports Radio
I think 103.7 will become "KNEW-FM Talk 103.7"

Not unless they change the KNEW-AM programming. I can't see syndicated Fox News programming being a bit hit in the Bay Area. 910's ratings have been pathetic. It's not like there's a lot of interest in hearing Armstrong & Getty in FM Stereo - 103.7 is better off with Classic Rock...cheap to run, and so far, The Band rates much higher than KNEW.

Now, if Clear Channel was willing to spend the money to bring in a couple of live and local talk hosts - at least in drive-times, and at least one that's not a right-wing nut-job, it might work, and could hurt KGO big time. But what's the likelihood of that happening?

or why not go even more cheaper and go 103.7 Jack FM

If Clear Channel were to do variety hits, they probably wouldn't pay SparkNet to use "Jack." It would probably be "Tom," like what they're doing in a couple of other markets. Then again, they're still running Jack on the former CBS stations they bought in Baltimore and Sacramento. So, if they inherited part of a group deal or something, I suppose it might be possible.

There does seem to be a large, gaping hole for oldies in that market. And oldies (or classic hits or whatever you want to call it) seems to do well in the PPM era. Better than CC's half-assed robot format with out-of-town jocks. Just sayin'.

A Classic Hits station would be good. Of course, it would probably be a half-assed robot classic hits station with out-of-town jocks.

A station like Q104.5 on the central coast near San Luis Obispo would be nice up here in the bay area! KFRC-FM HD-2 just doesn't cut the mustard! Sorry CBS you folks just don't get it at all! Q104.5 is a really cool station and has some good folks on the air!
