Hayworth blows election, wins KFYI

I have to agree with Legend City. JD is an egotistical Blowhard. Back when he was just the TV/radio local sports dude, he would show up at charity events that I would also be helping out at. It was soooooo hard to like JD for 5 minutes, let alone 3 hours a day, 5 days a week. And that's what KFYI is going to be asking their PM drive audience to do. I don't think JD has a personality that listeners will ever warm up to.

Reality check: Crummey improved upon the ratings of Liddy and Hill, which wasn't particularly difficult, but you generally don't get fired if you have 1) good ratings and 2) bring in the buck$. Crummey had modest ratings and was obviously not bringing in the cash, thus he got kicked to the curb.

So, you were full of s*** when you said Crummey's ratings were HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGEE.

I told you so. ;)

I want you to find for me the quote where I said Crummey's ratings were "huge", find that quote and I'll give you $100.

His ratings were better than Snewz 92-3 KT'R much of the time, and they were an improvement over Liddy and Hill who lost to just about everybody. It's about revenue really... Crummey brought in some dollars, not enough though.

So, try to actually get a quote right.

you cant take oncentral's comments too seriously...ktar is waiting for any excuse to say they have somehow affected kfyi...and oncentral has made it abundantly clear where he or she works. I suppose the master blogger has been patting himself on the back ever since Joe got let go. ::)

Crummey never beat KT'R.

And the Master Blogger is the reason Crummey was fired. Why else did KFYI wait to hire JD now? Nice job Masterful Blogger. 8)

I would guess the negotiations with Hayworth pre dated the Crummey story. In a way, KTAR may have accidentally helped create buzz around the issue. Regardless, Hayworth brings name recognition and is a polarizing figure. While that isn't enough to sustain a show, it is a start.

Hey guys. Don't be too hard on the DudeBoss. He probably didn't have anything to do with the JD hire. The higher ups in the CC PHX structure made the decision, and DudeBoss had to go along with it. The KFYI PD position is nothing more than a title with no real decision making powers. Why do you think the ChickBoss was so eager to get out of there?

Score one for KT'R on this one. They made a big deal about Crummey in LA and forced KFYI to respond. Dudeboss blinked. JD would have been great 4 years ago. He's a tired old windbag now. :-\

Just like most of his new competition on of KT'R.

You don't get to say that very often

This reminds me of the time when Coke introduced 'New Coke' and a lot of people complained. The president of Pepsi was interviewed and said it was because of Pepsi that New Coke failed.

JD lost his congress seat in November. He left office in January. I think he spent his time trying to get some type of national job in TV/radio. When that didn't work, he started/continued talking with KFYI.

I doubt management, after reading a news article and a blog post on a small website, suddenly had to get rid of Joe. Only time (and ratings) will tell if this was a good decision.

Nurse Jeff has dusted for fingerprints and found some that look Nearly Famous! Think about it: what former KFWhyEye PD has disliked every PM Driver? Raoul's boss sure is chummy with Smokey the Programming Bear! Don't give credit to the Master Blogger, he has too many problems of his own.
