My Insigina loses it charge just sitting! My 1962 Zenith 'portable' doesn't do that.
My now non-working Directed Electronics (DICE) automotive add-on tuner unit is now dead locked up with no audio;
I'm sure that its death is under 2 years had something to do with the fact that I could make toast on the tuner box portion it was so damn hot. DICE will not respond to my requests for technical assistance or a replacement unit.
The DICE add-on tuner DID have good selectivity, but horrible distortion from the RCA jacks, and excessive heat. The DICE HD unit would not get and HD lock on any AM station if I had any switching power supply plugged into my cigarette lighter (cellphone charger or XM power plug)! AM frequency response was chopped at about 4KHz analog too, which stunk up the place.
IF DICE would have done a 2nd generation 'FIX' based on my comments, it could have been a great unit, but my guess is that they gave up.
