Help identifying JRN DJs

Well I had recorded an aircheck of K-Jazz from the Jones network and cannot figure out which DJ this is I'm hearing. This is around 6 pm - 7 pm. What was the lineup for JRN in March 2008?

If you are talking 6:00-7:00PM Eastern, it would have been Keith Riker. In March 2008, I am pretty sure Loni Taylor was after Keith.

Chris

But if it was on a weekend it would have been different.

On Saturday late afternoon it might have been John Evans or Steve Michaels. Kenny Cortes used to handle Sundays, but at one time I swear he was on for entire weekends!

Chris

That timeframe and personality schedule is 100% correct

John Evans I remember him on KKSF.

Just passing information here, you can hear Laurie Cobb (formerly Lynn Hughes) on Denver's Smooth Jazz 101.9. She hosts the 7p.m. - 12a.m. time frame locally.

Wonder what ever happened with Laurie's gig at smoothlounge.com?

Too bad she's resorted to playing pathetic BA playlists in Denver.

Laurie does a GREAT job, and not just "on the air." She is a BRILLIANT programmer. Laurie and her former Jones Radio Network colleagues, Steve Hibbard and Cheri Marquart, were tremendous influences on my programming strategy. And you all know how I feel about Jones' former jocks, like Keith Riker and the aforementioned John Evans. Smooth, conversational delivery tailor made for this format---and just enough talk to let listeners know someone was on the other end taking the edge off of their day.

Actually I take this back. Although I'm not thrilled with Laurie's playlists (and from what I uncovered), KKHI's playlists are not all bad. Heard some Chris Coco, Wax Poetic, S-Tone Inc, Roxy Music, Kim Pensyl...artists unheard of on BA.

But ELO???!!!!!

Appears their lineup only really blows during BA's programmed Dave Koz/Maria Lopez time slots.

Gawd, Chris, just mentioning the names of these consummate professionals brings a tear to my eye, knowing that we may never ever hear another terrestrial commercial contemporary smooth jazz equivalent to them in our lifetimes!! ;) :(

Thanks to "The Wav", the pain of the Jones Smooth Jazz loss has been much easier to tolerate, especially considering the "sellout strategy" implemented by Kepler and his BA henchmen!!

DD, if I had the resources to bring them all back tomorrow, and they wanted to ride "The .wav" train, you know I would love to be a part of that winning team. :) Like Keith VTs during "his" 3-8PM Eastern slot, "The way things used to be. The way they were meant to be...where memories last a lifetime." :'(

And that, my friend, has become my absolute favorite radio liner of all time!! :)

I really enjoyed Cheri. She sounded really natural and had some energy. Same with Laurie..There was a woman on after her (evenings) that drove me nuts though because she sounded really fake and did that pseudo sexy/purr whisper thing. Always thought Steve Hibbard sounded a bit too much like an old time MOR personality though.
