Buddy Cianci --- 300,000--- plus live reads.. Personal appearances..
Ron StPeirre -- 140,000 --- plus live reads.

Dan Yorke 210,000 plus live reads,,Personal appearances...

Matt Allen 40,000 plus live reads...

Now notice Allen makes one tenth what Buddy makes and does a better job, in my opinion.
Ron, (Buddys human laugh track) makes more then John , who has a tough shift and has to do alot more then 'laugh'.

I got one for ya,, Buddy smokes in the studio. Neither PD Paul or OVER HER HEAD GM Barbara have the balls to tell him to stop!

Also, About Matt, he really doesn't have much leverage, sure he can threaten, but there isn't really a guarantee for him elsewhere if he turns down one contract.

Buddy had leverage: He could have gone down 195 to the competitor.
Ron is "running" 790, so there is got to be a token increase in pay
John was somewhat desperate, 95,000 seems resonable
Dan, well I got nothing to say, I guess he had some accolades coming here, and he's made the Top 100 list of yakkers, so, something is justified there.
 
Remember: If you read it here, it MUST be true.

As Personal Appearance Billboard close noted:
"Pro Personalities are sometimes compensated for their appearances."
 
No doubt that Matt is more talented than Buddy. But he's the new kid on the block, therefore he's naturally going to make less even though his show is actually much more entertaining. If Matt makes the right moves he will eventually surpass all their salaries.

Let Dan have his couple of hundred G's. For all the stress that he goes through that salary seems ok. They should give him another $50,000 when he has his first heart attack.

Ron has been in the business awhile. If I were him I would be pissed that I didn't make more.


BTW.... Why are you people so afraid of Buddy? If I worked there I can't imagine that I would have a problem pulling him aside and telling him to not smoke in the studio. If the station is willing to cut me a check I'll drive over there and tell him right now! People there are afraid of Buddy. Why? You people in that building are all so silly.
 
I forgot to mention Depetro. That's probably why he only makes $95,000. Everyone else is forgetting him as well. But seriously... for morning Drive... to make almost less than everybody else at the station is insane! He's really getting the short end of the stick. He should have just stayed at HJJ. His midday show was Hot and he certainly would have been making more money than he is right now.
 
I don't know if Buddy smoking in the studio is true. But I'm pretty sure there is a RI. Law that prohibits smoking
in the workplace. All one needs to do is call the RI. Dept Of Health to report a violation. JointChinese mentioned that Dan has allergies & needs his own chair for the studio. If Buddy is smoking in the same studio Dan uses, his allergies must be going nuts!
 
The smoking in the studio thing is BS. He does smoke right in front of the building in the doorway though and it is true everyone is afraid to directly tell him not to.
 
I was told by someone who works at wpro, Buddy 'lit up' from time to time in the studio..
Matt Allen is getting 40,000 ? Thats B.S. ! Wpro gives 300,000 to Buddy and 40,000 to Matt!
I like Buddy, but crime DOES pay!!
 
I don't buy Yorke making $210,000 plus live reads. He is doing live reads at every single break. There is no way they are letting him make that much in these times. Maybe with all the live reads he gets to $210,000 which is still pretty strong in this market. How much of a payroll could this station have when Farid is slashing pennys?

whoopee......we have a ballpark on who's making what.....is ANYONE surprised with this info?
If you thought John was making more than 100k, you weren't paying attention when he got here....Dan's been here long enough to absolutely be making what he is (especially as he is one of the main reasons that HJJ is 90% off the satellite during the day).....Buddy's contract was the worst kept secret since Ellen Degeneres being gay, Ron's salary is also right in line for coming off mornings, helping to land Buddy and run 790 and Matt, God love him, is making more that what a midday person was making in that building within the last 3 years....(Midday person)

As for the comments about who should and shouldn't be making what, if you can do better, call WHJJ and get on the air.....
 
Frankly for market #39, I don't believe that payroll at all. 730K M-F? Add on staff costs...at least 500K. No way. What does the station bill? MAYBE 3.5-4 Mill a year?

I don't see any unbelievable salaries there. We already know Buddy makes $300,000. Even if you took the four remaining hosts and capped each of their salaries at $100,000 each, you would still end up with $700,000. Only a mere $30,000 difference from the total we got here anyway. Sounds to me like the total is right on. WPRO threw a bunch of money at a name! A name that probably isn't bringing in nearly as many listeners as the station had hoped. I picture Farid at home drawing a chopping block and I'm seeing Buddy's head in it. It's only a matter of time. He's not going to keep paying $300,000 for a guy who is probably pulling in less ratings than Rush Limbaugh was.
 
So let's take your lowered figure of $700,000 in salaries for the hosts which is about a meager $100,000 less than reported by the original Radio Rat. Now add the expense of a full time news staff. Next let's add in the staff of producers and screeners. I would assume we should maybe throw a few sheckles to the program director. I would think you're now at a minimum of $1,000,000. What do you think the station bills in a market that is down maybe 15-20 percent from last year. The sales staff is out on the street with rates for Buddy as low as $25 per spot. Hmmmmmmmm.

You are correct... and I see your point. I think all of this adds up to a company that is in trouble.... or is at least quickly headed there.

1.)So, you're in that good with H.R. at Citadel that you know everyone's salary?
2.) Even if you are correct which you presumably are not I find starting this thread very unprofessional.
3.) I am very surprised and disappointed on everyone who bought in to this conversation.
