Yawn...tired act.

Speaking of tired act, Buddy is on his daily tirade about Ciciline. This guy might not be the best Mayor in the world, but is he the ONLY Mayor in the state that made decisions about what to do with school closings? No matter what he would have decided to do, The King would find reason to single him out. It gets old. When he is on, he is definitely the best talk host in the market. Why does he have to be all vendetta radio against Ciciline and Esserman? Because they dare not bow to him?
You know what, you are right in the regard that he is always talking about them; but it seems there is weekly new stuff coming up or out about these 2. Why did it take until 8:30am to make the decision, then a conference call and not until 10:30am to announce they would be letting out students (and allowing the bus contractor to pretty much dictate the circumstances?)
When John D was at HJJ and each day putting the hammer to Buddy on a daily basis, there wasn't this uproar or questioning as to why.....Cicilline and his administration is not above reproach.

Is this what we've resorted to? Telling each other that we have dirt on them? Oi. He's right about the tired act lawman, if all your on here to do is bash Buddy and Citadel for hiring, find somewhere else to do it. Wknd and Skynet stopped argueing(thank heavens), that moron radiowavesri stopped with the 990 crap, I think its time to give up the Bash Buddy stick. We understand you don't like him and you're certainly entitled to your opinion. However, over and over and over again you tell us the obvious. He's a god damn criminal. We get it.

You forgot to capitalize the Damn! :)

Somewhere,, Yeah, I'm here to tell you Buddy's a criminal. It's called VICTIMS RIGHTS. I 'm very familiar with more than one of Buddy's victims. How EASY it is for you to love a crook.
How even easier it was for you to use God's name in vain..
Shows what you are.

Did you know that I never once even though about assaulting anyone with a cigarette, an ashtray or a fireplace log. But I think I just came up with a good question for Family Feud.

100 people surveyed. Top three answers are on the board. Name something that you see smoke coming from.

1. Cigarette
2. Ashtray
3. Fireplace Log

i keep reading in just about every buddy post about how he makes 300k a year.... but can anyone on the forum actually prove this????? i highly doubt it.

"Is:" @ $1.67 a share, CDL is in a pinch.

Uh, check that. It's now down to $1.44 a share ... again.

Also, to the brilliant poster who said, "Everybody knows how much the President makes..." Duh! No kidding! "We the People" pay his salary and the salary is absolutely public knowledge.

Your favorite talk-show host's salary, especially under contract (let alone, an entire radio station) shouldn't be public knowledge or even individual knowledge.

If Farid ever got wind of this (sorry, Holland,) it WOULD become more than just a chopping block "problem." Now that Sean's situation has, hopefully, been resolved to everyone's favor ... let's hope that Farid doesn't need to take a break by looking at his favorite radio message board over a gin and tonic or a scotch and water to find this.

Some things, especially as personal as someone's salary in this business is better left unsaid without permission. And, after all, what's the purpose?

Ladies! Ladies!

You're still missing the point.

Salary = You're at-the-mercy-of corporate suits who, THEMSELVES, aren't in-control.

You think FARID is in-control?
He's now answering to Sean Hannity!

Stations, jobs aren't the end.
They're merely the means.

Remember, advertisers pay big bucks to have their names mentioned on-air.

So WHILE local personalities still-have-a-gig, this advice: MILK IT.
Build brand.
Then, take-it-out-for-a-spin.
i.e., Sean.

Remember, "Pro Personalities are frequently compensated for their appearances..."
;)

What would you say (2A) Joint-Chinese?

Oh really? Well sorry to inform you that many salaries in the entertainment world do become general knowledge. They get reported all over the News. As a matter of fact Forbes puts out an annual list of the Wealthiest entertainers.... and they arn't the only ones who do. You've got a lot of people to take your personal beef up with if you have a problem with such reporting.

From USA Today: Rush Limbaugh Salary: Signed a $250 million contract in 2001 that runs through 2009. Got a $35 million signing bonus.

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/nfl/2003-10-02-limbaugh-controversy_x.htm

------------

From Forbes: Bill O' Reilly - Pay $9 million

http://www.forbes.com/lists/2006/53/X3QK.html

-------------

From cnet.... Howard Stern: Sirius Satellite Radio gambles that shock jock Howard Stern is worth his $500 million paycheck.

http://news.cnet.com/Is-Stern-worth-his-millions/2100-1026_3-5994210.html

-------------

From Forbes: David Letterman - The five-year renewal he just signed with CBS for Late Show, after a fleeting but well-timed flirtation with ABC, is worth some $350 million; more than $155 million of that will go straight to Letterman

OK I could do this all night, but I'm bored already. Are you going to tell me with a straight face that you didn't realize this stuff is out there? So what? I can find out how much a thousand celebrities make. Big Whoop! It doesn't change the fact that I'm going to go eat some cereal and then go to bed.

I believe channel 6 news reported Cianci was getting 300,000. Sky, you're right, people on this board sometimes seem to be sooo geeerrrrochie!!

Everyone here is consumed with the $300k from PRO. Don't forget his gig on Channel 6. That could be another $150 or so. Lawman says crime pays....he's not kidding.

He's also not happy with the upcoming Michael Corrente film The Prince Of Providence since he didn't write it so he either has a deal or is in talks with DeNiro's Tribeca films for a second movie that has his stamp of approval. After they both bomb at the box office notwithstanding the world premieres/pricey dinners and wine tasting parties in RI you'll be able to buy them as a packaged two-fer at Best Buy.

But I do not blame him one bit. Get what you can get and flaunt it. It's the only way to go.

Ah yes MR McRadio! You are a great American. I asure you! My dear friends have we not all learned from this great talker of talkers, Buddy ?? he has taut us to steal and break all these silly laws! this still does not tell me anything concrete about his pro salary.... there is a poster here telling us about ruch and sean hannatys pay in forbes mag...... witch i believe........ but i still havent seen anything on buddys salary....

Cianci did have to say this about his pay:

fellow WPRO radio talk show host John DePetro was on the receiving end of Cianci's barbs. Asked what it was like to work with someone who previously had been critical of his city administration, Cianci joked that "I just like my paycheck" compared to what DePetro makes.

----------------

A Cianci representative is said to be seeking $250,000 just to start negotiations (for a radio show). In Rhode Island radio, such a commitment would require unprecedented advertising sales.

His lifestyle remains posh, and includes having a black Lincoln Towncar with private driver on call.

-------

What can you tell us about your job as a talk radio host on WPRO-AM? How did the contract negotiations go? How much will you earn, and how do you see your radio show going?
I can’t tell you about my contract talks and salary — that is confidential — but it will be very good, I can tell you that

source: http://thephoenix.com/Boston/News/47738-Buddy-Cianci/?page=4

------------

Entertainment apparently pays well. Cianci declined to talk about his salary, but didn’t quibble with reports that peg it at $250,000 a year or more.
