I don't know...I'm one of the chorus of voices who think that the market is over-saturated with country music radio stations. Between WIOV, WRBT, WGTY, WCAT, WFRE, WIOO, I think there's enough fiddles and steel guitars to go around. I get it that they're all in different markets, but it's not as though the cities are so far-spread that my argument is totally meaningless to your average listener. When your radio stops scanning at 94.9, 99.9, 102.3, and 105.1 with essentially the same sound, what would possibly stand out at 103.3?
Here's an idea, partially fueled by bourbon...
What if it was truly a mix, geared directly at females? What if we heard a Keith Urban's ballad, followed by a catchy Bob Marley tune, then a touch of Van Morrison, a splash of Aerosmith, a skosh of Jay-Z, a little Fergie for flavor, then toss it back to the top of the pattern with some Carrie Underwood??
I think we've come full circle in our thinking of music programming, from "incredibly varied" to "unrelentingly sub-divided", back to an attractive mix? How cool would it be if we heard "WARM 103...We Play Everything."
