What happened to Bob Rudy on The Peak?
I think he got canned. I checked out his website the other week and saw no Peak images, as were there before. Resume has been updated.
Mr. Rudy is bigger and better than this crappy cookie-cutter formatting. Real radio is almost extinct here and listeners are fed up.
We, the listeners with the smarts to understand the radio business without being in the radio business, are PISSED and don't care about your corporate idea of "radio".
+ Voice tracking on the weekends and after 7 p.m. (Cumulus Harrisburg)
+ Failure to take any type of request - day or night (WSOX)
+ The ever-present screwing of personalities and caring more about advertisers than listeners. (Everyone)
+ The Cumulus forced week-long "vacations" of everyone on staff while the top dog prospers (not referring to Mad Dog, by the way)
+ Creating a "news" report by collecting headlines from the newspaper. Wow.
+ Traffic reports that we can't understand, but we can sure understand who is sponsoring it. $ $ $
+ Giving us syndicated radio that we don't care about.
In closing, Bob Rudy and the great personalities of yesteryear are much better off doing what they do best... being "personal" and working for the causes they cherish. Bob has always been a fantastic citizen and advocate for animals.
I swear, if I ever win the lotto, I will buy a station and run it the way its supposed to be run. Then, and only then, I will select "true talent" which does not give in to the "man" for $14 an hour.
That will never happen, so I guess it's back to the Ipod. Program directors who opt for voice tracking over live talent, remember that the listeners don't need you - you need the listeners. I just proved that fact by playing Arlo Guthrie's
"City of New Orleans" on the 'net because NONE of you would play it on the FM band for me.
