"He's So Fein..."

I haven't always agreed with Todd Feinburg, but I hope the guy gets some due
credit for holding down the fort at WRKO while Howie Carr and Entercom go through their legal battles.

Having grown tired of Jay Severin's shtick, and having little success hearing Sean
Hannity's program due to WTTT's weak signal, Feinburg has basically become
the sole choice for afternoon drive--and while he isn't Carr, he's doing the best
job possible of putting on an entertaining program.

No matter what happens in the Carr lawsuit (although I think it's crystal-clear
that Carr outsmarted himself back in July and thus will have to return to 'RKO),
I hope Entercom finds some way to reward Feinburg for all of his hard work.
He's WRKO's most valuable player at this point, and deserves to have a permanent,
prominent position at the station. Once Howie comes back, why not push Michael
Savage's program back a few hours and put Feinburg back into the post-Howie slot?
Isn't it pathetic that Dan Rea's program is the only live and local talk offering for evening listeners?

Feinburg has gone several extra miles for 'RKO this year--filling in for Finneran on numerous occasions during the summer, co-hosting Finneran's show multiple times, and now substituting for Howie. The guy should be a part of 'RKO's future for years to come.

Me either, go figure...

Agreed.

I don't think it's worth it to WRKO to have a live/local evening show during the baseball season. I would not be surprised if they did something once the season is over. However, I doubt it would be Feinburg. If Howie comes back, I bet Feinburg ends up on mornings with Finneran - that seemed to be the direction they were headed until Carr's July surprise. If so, WRKO will have mid-day and evenings to play with.

Just checked the Entercom/Boston career website for first time in ages - for months there was an ad for the Mid-day host slot - it isn't there any more. I wonder when they got rid of it.

Never listen to old HC old slot anymore...BUT tuned in at 6:59 to get ready to listen to Mike Wiener ......AND here were Turd Feinburgs parting words verbatim......."IF Howies not back from vacation tommorow I be back at 3 tomorrow! Whatta rat! Spewin' da manure fo' Hatchet Face & her sidekick Da Gnome! Makes ya wanna throw up on TV! ::)

Give me a break, I heard him last night whining about commercials during the Red Sox games. Too bad. Major League Sports is first and foremost a business. If Feinburg's a broadcaster he should know that. Business 101 folks. If you want to watch sports, go watch a little league game.

Feinburg is to the Howie Carr show what playing Tone Loc over and over again is to a station that doesn't care.
If anyone outside of Corporate truly believes that Feinburg has talent, that his voice is compelling, that what he has to say includes any substance, well - I respectfully submit that they don't know radio.

Feinburg is actually the victim. He should be working construction or stocking groceries at the Supermarket if he wants to contribute to this society. The fact that WRKO hires someone on the cheap (you think he's getting the proverbial 800 large? And the use of proverbial is a joke; no one outside of WRKO's limited audience knows what 800 large refers to) means that they don't care to bring in quality talent, quality radio.

We have the Red Sox. we don't need talented voices. and we're not worried about 96.9 FM.

Have to question anyone who goes overboard complimenting something that is impossible to listen to.
Though this board is not as active as it once was, I've been told the station execs read it religiously. Across the board.

Some are merely thin skinned suits (those at Talk radio) who would rather silence criticism with a mute button than actually give the listeners what they want.

Next time you read the Arbitrons attempt to see how big the pool is that they are sampling. Radio's audience has diminished in this region and Entercom's policies certainly haven't done anything to ATTRACT listeners.

Todd Feinburg is a good case in point.

Jeez. Did Feinburg steal your girlfriend or something? ;)

my girlfriend passed away in the past year - be careful what comments you make.

Feinburg was not her type either.
