DirecTV dropped XM Escape and replaced it with DMX contemporary instrumentals, but now they've added DMX beautiful instrumentals. No vocals, but if I was spending that kind of money that would be my preference.

The questioner thought he meant classical music. No, he said. Oh, the person said, you mean like soft rock or Genesis. Never mind, the person said.
He might hae said easy listening. I'll post the exact quote here if I can find it.passtheword said:vchimpanzee said:I post in a Yahoo group. Someone who posts there was taking a survey and said something about beautiful music radio.

lol, part of the problem with people not knowing what the term "beautiful music" means is because the term is a name coined by radio stations for the format many years ago (it's "radio-speak"). The term "beautiful music" might have been employed quite a bit on the radio years ago, but these days, people have no idea what a "beautiful music" station is/was. I would think maybe the term "easy listening" would help make the connection with the format, but these days, some folks think some types of AC are easy listening. You could say "muzak" or "elevator music" in describing it (the negative terms used for beautiful music) and then they'd probably be able to grasp it. :![]()
