Hilton Head's 106.9 is now BOB 106.9

The call sign, for one. If I heard correctly, it's now WUBB <yawn> . We'll have to see what they do tomorrow. Today, except for an annoying voice track, it sounds the same as always. Speaking of annoying, what will they do with the regulars on the air, I wonder. I suppose BOB is JACK's country cousin?

Reid and Laura were let go last week.

This makes no sense to me. I don't understand the design, name, or imaging as they seem to be something you'd see on a Variety Hits station, and we all know BOB FM is indeed also a satellite-fed Variety Hits format in and of itself.

Right now WGZR is airing a morning show entitled "The Very Early Show"; one of the jocks' names is Sierra. I suspect this is a satellite-fed format but can't confirm that.

This is just a really, really stupid idea, IMHO.

By the way, the FCC's website shows that the station's callsign is still WGZR.

They appear to be live in Savannah. "Sierra" sounds as though she is off-mike or something ... perhaps she is synthesized like the voices on NOAA? If the effect is intentional ... someone explain to me why, please.

Over on their Facebook page, one of the announcers asks for advice on the best area of Savannah for relocating his family, and they're promoting live appearances at Montana's during the morning show - perhaps they have actually brought new talent to town.

The FCC website has always seemed slow to update, which makes no sense given that filing is done electronically nowadays.

Reid had been with WGZR only about a year, but Laura has been a part of Savannah radio for quite a while now. Seems unfair to dismiss her so unceremoniously as seems to have happened. Mike Miller went MIA on the air a few weeks ago. Does anyone know if he is still with the company or if he left the company before the others?

My newspaper horoscope says it is time to embrace change, but in the case of BOB106.9, I'm not so sure.

Just saying.. If you took Jon Robbins, Reid Thrush and Trey Cooler and put them all on the same stick, you'd have a helluva radio station. And all three of those guys are in Savannah..

Bueller? Anyone?

Someone could just gather up the talent cast aside by the Savannah clusters in the last couple years and turn these people loose to do what they know how to do and the new outfit thus created would, to steal from Verizon, rule the air.

OMG! You really need to raise your minimum standards! ONE of the above is worthy of what you're saying. That's it.

You would think Adventure Radio would have learned a lesson from the Jack 98.3 thing. I hear some people actually liked that, though; personally speaking, I didn't. I find it interesting that this Bob 106.9 went and got two newcomers for this morning show; why couldn't they just have put Reid and Laura into a morning show? Would have made sense.

Along these lines, did Adventure Radio undergo a restructure? I've noticed staff changes with all the stations at the cluster via their websites. Can someone clear up what's happened? Appreciate it.

oh Adventure what a mess you have made. bob is unlistenable.
bring in an entire new staff with obviously little experience and expect any kind of improvement just shows the decision making mental stability of GM Mark.
or perhaps this is the brainchild of a Triad higher up.

Triad has too many stations that seem to target the same demographic.

98.3
103.1
106.9
107.9

Too many of the same songs overlapping. Especially with 98, 103, and 106.
