I figured it was coming. Sad news for "Live" fans, including myself, but not surprising.

dubya-dubya-dubya-dot-newstalk100wapi-dot-com.

That's a LONG web address.

Personally, I though Live 100.5 was a very unique radio station.  I liked their musical presentation.  It was a breath of fresh air.

If WAPI is moving to the FM side, then it may hurt WYDE and WERC in the long run and cause one and/or both to ditch their current talk format.

R.D.P. <><

P.S. This station still has a pretty good signal, in my neck of the woods. (100.5 FM)

B.T.W. To the Program Guy at WAPI AM, I like your talk presentation. You know how to do it right. I hope your station will have continued success.

Considering WYDE's dismal ratings, a talk WAPI-FM isn't going to have much effect on 1260/101.1, as there's not a whole lot available to "damage". :D

Another rock station going to be replace with talk radio? It appears that history is repeating itself once again. I don't have anything else to say about Live 100.5, since that kind of 'new rock' wasn't my cup of tea to begin with.

and thus you have a format better suited for 101.1. It's alternative, not mainstream, and would reach most every major market north of Montgomery...

I've said it, doesn't mean it'll happen :)

Crawford wouldn't consider a rock format, I think.

The Save 100.5 Facebook page has… 6,300 fans!

Maybe someone should start a "put WAPI on FM" Facebook page and see who gets the most fans.

The "Save Live 100.5" group is now up close to 8000 fans, although I do think it's a complete waste of time. "The Vulcan" listeners are still on Facebook protesting to this day, and the station's predecessor "Hallelujah" had many of their listeners protesting the format change from black gospel. The former Vulcan listeners are still waiting...or at least some of them are, anyhow.

The WAPI listeners don't really need a Facebook page to "put WAPI on FM" because it's probably a "done deal", anyway. ;)
Someone on "Live's" Facebook group (or the "Save" group) was saying the format change to talk was happening at 2 pm this coming Sunday. Anybody hear word if that's the case?

what an epic playlist tonight....

just in the last hour:

If I had My way...
Send me on my way...
One fast move or i'm gone...
U2's Moment of Surrender...
Nothing Sacred

Just not U2's "Numb", huh? ;)

not yet...would be nice to be spared that, but, i doubt it...

think this format will show up somewhere else? 14,000 listeners (who happen to be computer savvy) can't be wrong, right? Wonder how many there actually are...
