Ho-Ho-Ho Propels KEZ to #1

They played the hell out of that song six months ago. Left me scratching my head almost as much as when the signed Pratt to do mornings.

For the life of me, can't figure out how anyone can listen to this "yawner" of a station?

Possibly one of the worst playlists I've heard on a light rock station!

KOOL will keep em outta the top spot!

This is true. I wish there was a mix show on the station like Markus Schulz had on the Edge (Edge Factor) in the 90's.

As much as I liked that show, I'm not sure it would be a good fit today. It worked back then because the format was more than Rock. In the early 90's, they still featured New Order, Depeche Mode, and even Utah Saints. But now it is all Guitars. It was also cool when Electronica had a rise in the late 90s but even that stuff fizzled. Grunge poisoned the word Alternative and now its just that....contaminated.

Before the Edge changed to X, they had a show called Mix N Mash but the DJ was all over the place and was quite rough with his blending

I remember running The Edge Factor when I worked at the Edge 106.3 at the old studio on Camelback and 75th Ave at the AM tower Site. Came in on Reel to Reel :) Had to talk during the talk breaks between songs. Had a hell of a time pronouncing some of the artists LOL. Sure I butchered many. But was a great program to listen to...

Sounds like you're describing KWSS-LP. They're light years ahead of 103.9, with a significant amount of local tracks in regular rotation. Nearly every song I heard on KUKQ, whether it was 'People Who Died' or 'Mexican Radio' or The Jetzons (the band, not the cartoon) has eventually made it over to KWSS-LP.

Sounds awesome. Where is it from? Do they play the Nails or Front 242?

Sure they do. They even play Cocteau Twins. You can check out their daily playlist here:
http://tunein.com/radio/KWSS-LP-1067-s97194/

I helped put the music library together at KWSS. 90% of the 80's and 90's music in the library I put there personally. I was a HUGE fan of KUKQ and was a loyal listener.. Even when I worked at KFMA and KEDJ (106.3). I wanted to help keep the legacy that was KUKQ inspired through KWSS today. That's why I wanted Jonathan L on KWSS and worked with Jonathan to get Lopsided World Of L on KWSS.

Every time I heard KTAR's afternoon hosts playing "Fact or Fiction," or the even train-wreck'ier "Family Feud" amongst themselves - um, guys, are you ever gonna let listeners play, too?

You forgot to mention the equally insipid "Alphabet" or "Super Freak" features of the Chuck 'n Chick show on KT'R. Two hosts guffawing at each others inane comments. Want to participate? Well, go to their Facebook page as taking live and local calls aint part of the format  Guess TMISU aren't aware that their web page proclaims "KT'R - Where the Valley Talks". Hmmmmmm.
They lost me with Chucks unimpressive impression of Wolf Blitzer and even lesser than desirable impressions of the Republican hopefuls ("I think I'll write a bit about the republican debates...and I'll voice them all...yeah. I can break out my Wolf"). It was sad.

Now back to KEZ and their ho-ho-ho music or what ever direction this thread goes to.
