Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini Fired from "The Talk." Why?

Gregg said:
CBS clearly looks at the success "The View" has had and wants the same. The View is part news, part entertainment, the way Barbara Walters envisioned it. And it works, even if men aren't the target audience and just think it's a group of women trying to solve the world's problems with silly one-liners.

The View is part news/part entertainment, but CBS decided to take the concept and dumb that down, so The Talk has little news, no political discussion, and on the entertainment aspect 0 I can't say for sure, but I would wager the celeb guests are less famous or known.

I don't really watch THE TALK, but I read that there was a bit more cat scratching
on camera than they wanted. Now they can rotate some celebrity guests for maybe
6 months (and then pick some new talent from among them). Such an audition
process would surely liven up the place and keep the show from getting stale.

Overall, the show has exceeded CBS projections and expectations.

I assume it would also save CBS some money by having rotating guests. Less persons to pay a big salary and benefits, atleast for a short while. After Rosie and Star were fired from The View, the show had just 3 anchors, and ABC probably saved some money that year while searching for someone new.

And, it could be that whomever gets chosen, she would have take responsibilities for CBS elsewhere.

Somewhat like Elisabeth Hasselback that does The View but also segments on Good Morning America. Or Hoda that does the 4th hour of Today along with Dateline. Recently when Sam Champion was out sick or vacation on GMA, a weathercaster from WPVI/Philadelphia was taking responsibilities of Sam Champion from GMA.
