Hollywood Squares 70s Version

On my last comments I didn't get to finish because of time. Something I meant to ask is if we have gone from one extreme of preserving almost nothing and regretting it later, to the opposite extreme preserving everything, even things nobody will ever want to see again?
 
TCM had been showing interviews Cavett had done of classic movie stars on his show in recent years, and now they're doing the same thing with interviews from Carson.
