Host Predictions For CBS and NBC

Boomer is OK, Carton is obnoxious! Boomer is well-known to national audiences, Carton might not play so well nationally.

I prefer live and local sports talk radio, but I listen to Mike & Mike on my drive to work each morning. The reason for that is Craig Carton. :)

CBS is just cutting payroll on a national level and dressing up a pig. This network strategy is as legitimate as voicetracking. They should have just added an overnight and weekend national approach as others have mentioned here. Instead you'll hear the backlash as they slowly force more and more national clearance of programs like Gottlieb on the masses and take power away from the local pd's.

In markets where CBS owns both an AM and FM sports station, CBS Sports Radio will air 24/7 on the AM, while the FM is live and local. An example is Philadelphia, where WIP 610 AM will air CBS SR 24/7 starting 1/2/13. WIP-FM (94.1) will remain live and local.

In the event WFAN doesn't get moved to FM, is it possible WFAN's live and local programming will be taken over by CBS SR? Could it mean live and local Mike Francesa gets bumped for syndicated Doug Gottlieb? Perish the thought! The same thing could happen to local hosts on WSCR Chicago if that station doesn't move to FM. :(

I hope this post was just sarcasm. CBS is never taking local off WFAN or WSCR. Those stations make too much money.

Wish they would hire Bob Berger for weekends. Miss his easygoing, calm style, especially on NFL Sundays.

His and Bruce Murray's Sunday NFL shows during the season, back during the One-on-One/Sporting News days, was great radio, IMO. It was much better than what ESPN was doing at the same time.
