How hard is it to look up a license? Go to radio-locator.com and type in your city. If you're going into the industry, yes, you should know whether or not your station has a license. That's really not asking a whole lot, is it.
And they knew what they were getting into, a lot of industry VETERANS working for this fake radio station. They knew. And if they lost their "jobs", then oh well. That's the way it goes.
This is not the past. If the FCC can look away from a pirate station (TouchFM) where the Mayor of Boston and Governor of Massachusetts appear regularly it ain't that important. You can look it up, and I can look it up, but your average listener doesn't care about it. You speak of radio-locator as if the general public knows about it well they don't. They go to the pirate stations website and as far as they are concerned it is legitimate. If I were a radio station owner I would hire these guys in a minute. Have them clean up their act and bring their audience to me. People on this board are too close to this issue and can't see it from the persective of a guy that turns his radio for entertainment or news.
