Hot 95.7 Growing too fast?

does my "poor" typing skills have anything to do with this post on why hot 95.7 is growing too fast? Na, I did NOT think so. You lose. I win.

Win what? ???

:-\If you pride your self on trying to look smart behind a computer screen, then I guess there really isn't much more of you that is interesting.

Now, if we can both grow up and spell correctly, then let us get back to the subject. Sounds Good?

I've got to say - I like it better than KRBE. That is amazing that somebody can come in and do KRBE better than KRBE. But - the limited playlist may be their downfall. It may rise fast, and fall fast.

I don't see why it would rise fast and fall fast because of a limited playlist, because the playlist is constantly changing.

KRBE has barely been affected, based on the PPM weeklies and monthlies so far. It's target, 18-34 women, is very strong. So Hot is not doing KRBE... it is doing a teen format and there are no dollars in that.

Hot has only impacted teens; it still is not even top 10 in 18-34, which is a salable demo. Time will show if Hot can move out of teens into sales demos, but so far it is not happening.

Hillarity at its finest, really. Do any of you actually ever look at the numbers or is all of this just supposition based on what makes sense to you as a listener? Well welcome to PPM world. Come on Dave Edwardo, I have already asked Arbitron and they are embarassedly looking for answers. In the April 08 (yes, this is all April data, two weeks after the filp in "real time" data) KKHH shows only 12.2% audience comp 12-17 teen, now for the punch line, they also show 12.2% A55-64 AND 12.2% 65+ who are you trying to kid with this BS, is Granny getting crunk in da club wid juice? Did Grampa sit down in his Olds and check out the new HOT 40min power rotation of Shorty Got Lo and decide the hell with Jazz, this is the station for me. So go ahead, tell me with a straight face that almost 25% of HOT's audience is 55+, go ahead, I dare you. Big Love for the Whole Sick Game.
PS Based on CUME April 08 6a-12a Audience Composition Commander Arbitron

whatever39 - I think what David E. is trying to say is that the greatest growth for HOT has been with teens. He is right about HOT not affecting KRBE in the women 18-34 demo. KRBE is #2 and HOT is #11 based on April 08 AQH (what sales uses) and has almost twice the audience size (6a-12m cume). In today's radio market if you follow the dollars it will lead you to a lot of answers whether it's format changes, hirings and/or firings. The closest you'll find HOT to KRBE in the AQH rankings is in the teens 12-17. That's not a very friendly sales demo. Even 18-34 is not that sales friendly. It's the 18-49, 25-49 & 25-54 demos that buyers typically utilize. HOT ranks #16, #19 and #20 in those demos respectively, whereas, KRBE ranks #7, #6 and #6 in those demos. Unfortunately or not, revenue rules the radio world. PPM is no where close to perfect but it is better than the antiquated diary system.
