Hot 95.7 now officially here

LOL. Don't listen to the haters.

This station sounds GREAT! Major props to Bryon Kennedy, Laura Morris and Jeff Garrison on Radio 101... Playing HITS for the MARKET!

"Real, true Mainstream stations" are a thing of the past and are for stations that know nothing about their market. HOT HITS 95.7 sounds like the market, as every Top 40 station should.

I've been listening since the launch and it's dead on. We've been doing the "#1 Most Requested Song of the Hour" since RadioNOW signed on in 2000 and it's a great tool. Too bad not more stations give their listeners that kind of control... (since our job as radio stations is to SERVICE the LISTENER!)

Great job again! The Radio WAR is on, good luck!

So if the listeners complain about a station, they become haters? Woooo man, I guess that makes most of us are haters then ;D

Great another station churning out the same crap you hear on KRBE or the MIX. Way to go!
Hell, I'm already tired of Rihanna's "Don't stop the Music".

haha, I love dance, but yeah come on that song was already overplayed lol.
Just the countdown itself and the song itself being played twice in the first hour got me so tired. Just finished doing some work and checked back and guess what was on? It was Rihanna!!!! Give the song a break already. KHJZ is giving me a bad first impression. This is worse than a Top 40 station playing the same set of songs over and over.

Also, at 4 PM, KHJZ played their intro again. Are they doing this by the hour? Because I was listening to their HD stream and at 3, it sounded like they messed up by playing the song earlier than it was supposed to. They tried to play it off by loweing down the volume, but that screwed all of it up. Anyone else caught that?
you think that is bad I heard sean kingston- take me there 3 times in a 45 min. span
Let's just hope this is the phase were they haven't organized their library yet. I'll be dammed if they already did and this is all they will play.

I guess we didn't have enough of this kinda of crap already?! How many stations do we need that cater mostly to the 12-17 demos?! ??? :(

I have more presets on my radio, than I need for the first time in my life.

This station is like the XM station 20 on 20 where people can call or go online and vote for the top songs for that hour. Its great to bring that to local radio. Way to go CBS Radio. Could we see more CHRs go this way?

Mediabase is wrong - the station is CHR/Pop

I know, but thanks to that new criteria for reporting stations Mediabase implemented it looks like KHJZ didn't fit the CHR/Pop profile to be a reporter on that panel.

What new criteria are you talking about? ???

They made these slight changes back in February to place a certain station with the right format panel. They even had a memo that outlined this, which is why Mediabase shuffled several reporting stations around.

Well CHRles, I e-mailed Mediabase, and they made the changes. KHJZ has been moved to the Top 40 panel.

Sorry bud...you didn't get them to make the change...it had already been done by the peeps at MB

I know that, but I did e-mail them anyway about this so no big deal.

Looks like there's already an on air jock at the station though it could be pre-recorded. I know that was the case when B-94 Pittsburgh was relaunched. They had a chick popping in several times an hour mentioning listeners in different cities/suburbs in the metro sending a shout out.
Still, its good that they've already got a voice inbetween the records. I imagine that right now just about every jock in America is contacting CBS Radio for the opportunity to work at the new Hot 95.7...including some former 104 KRBE personalities ;)

Yep. It's definitely prerecorded. First of all, I heard "Lauren the text anchor" do the same "break" twice in the last couple of days... and the 'jock'... the giveaway for me that it's recorded was the imaging workpart in the beginning of every one of his breaks... listen for it. ;)

Although I'm very definitely NOT in the target demo for Hot, I did do some listening to it while running errands yesterday, and I got the same "prerecorded" impression. It also appears the playlist is quite repetitive, on a two hour rotation. The songs even came up in the same order, if I'm not mistaken.

That jock is someone from KBKS/Seattle. Not positive, but it sure sounds like one of their jocks, I wanna say it's Eric Tyler, the night guy.

It's pre-recorded stuff from Marcus D, the afternoon guy at KBKS/Seattle. Good call!
